The Church Accommodation

We had a magnificent stay at the Church. Super lodges with very comfortable accommodation, very friendly and helpful staff, and ideally located within Hahei for getting out and about. The place has a very relaxed feel about it, and it made for a really super stay. Thoroughly recommended

We are just back from a 6 week tour of new Zealand and our stay at The Church was one of the highlights of the trip. We received a really friendly reception on arrival and were furnished with lots of really useful information on the local area and great tips with regard to visits to Cathedral Cove and Hot water Beach. We stayed in The House, which although slightly oversized for just the two of us was great accommodation and enabled us to cook meals , which after a long trip and lots of trips to restaurants we were really grateful for. The kitchen was very well equipped and there is a small General Store in Hahei which was very good, although we also stopped at the big supermarket in Tairua en route. The House was extremely clean and comfortable, particularly the pillows and beds. There was a large decking with table and chairs for eating outside and a small garden which was lovely to sit in to relax after long days on the beach and walking. The location of the The Church is just at the edge of the village of Hahei and was a pleasant walk into the village, beach and the path to Cathedral Cove. It was also close to the car park where for $7 you could get a shuttle bus up the first part of the walk to Cathedral Cove saving a walk up a steep hill. Hahei has a couple of cafes and a pub serving food, but The Church bistro is on the site of the accommodation. The bistro is well recommended although we did not try. I really recommend this accommodation, if you are staying in Hahei and suggest you add an extra day just to have a rest and relax on the beautiful beach if you are travelling.

Paradise found after city stays - just what we wanted a couple of quiet nights near a beautiful beach all within walking distance of bars and local shops coffee stops , right next to the Cathedral cove car park where you can get the bus for $7 return to the top car park which is not vehicle accessable and save you walking up the very steep hill Cottage units are quiet basic , no TV but who wants that when you can open your doors on to a beautiful garden and small patio to sit at and relax, staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, the bed was so comfortable our best nights sleep so far ! Just wish we could have stayed longer just love Hahei, think we’ll be back once sold up in the UK and end up here !

Beautiful setting, easy parking next to accommodation. Reception staff were really friendly & helpful. Tucked away from the hustle & bustle of the village but within easy walking distance of shops & cafes. We had garden cottage no. 7 and can highly recommend.

Great location. We had a self contained cottage located in beautiful gardens. The accommodation was very good - modern and comfortable. It was very spacious and well appointed. Short walk to the village centre. It was very easy to make the arrangements.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay here. Very good position. Easy to walk to the shops and micro brewery as well as Hahei beach. The onsite bistro is excellent. Very comfortable beds and well stocked kitchenette with complimentary ground coffee and milk. Glen was very helpful with tips about the area and went above and beyond forwarding a left item to us. Really appreciate the help. Thank you
