The only drawback is that it cannot be used all year round because it is located in a heavy snowfall area. A few years ago, I was fascinated by the outdoor bath full of wildness on a day trip, and this time I decided to stay overnight. It was a valuable experience to be able to experience various parts that I couldn't see on a day trip by staying overnight. Guests can enter the accommodation building inside the hotel and use the open-air baths for men and women. And I think the most attractive thing is that you can take an open-air bath all day without worrying about the time. There is a women-only time on the way (19:30-20:30). There are many areas where the corridors and floors are slanted, and there is a lot of creaking sound when walking in the corridors on the second floor. I felt a little uneasiness that the floor might fall out. This is probably due to the hydrogen sulfide gas that is produced. Air conditioning is not provided because it is self-generated. Even so, there was no problem without an air conditioner because the temperature was lower than the lower part of the land due to the high altitude. Meals are a buffet for both dinner and breakfast. It was surprising to have a buffet at such an inn, but I was able to enjoy the simple but delicious food centered on wild vegetables. However, it is quite crowded because everyone eats at the same time. In particular, the food storage area was a chaotic situation. And there are no alcohol vending machines in the hotel. It is necessary to purchase in advance at the shop by the end time of dinner. Please note that there is no refrigerator in the room, so if you don't drink it immediately, it will get warm. Although it is an extended facility of a mountain hut, the hot spring is real, so I would like to strongly recommend it to those who like hot springs. It is not recommended for those who want luxurious kaiseki cuisine like a luxury inn, comfortable rooms with air conditioning and heating, brand new and clean facilities, and hospitality. For those who love hot springs, I think it's worth going to Hachimantai.
