Our recent stay at Joy Island Maldives was truly exceptional. Traveling as a trio—grandmother, mother, and a 9-year-old daughter—we found the resort to be a perfect fit for all generations. The convenience of the resort’s amenities made our stay especially enjoyable, fulfilling one of our main criteria. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and assigned a personal manager, Gaia, who ensured all our needs were met and organized various activities for us. Her dedication truly enhanced our experience. The island itself is breathtaking. Nestled within the North Malé Atoll, it offers a serene lagoon with crystal-clear water on one side and the powerful, untamed Indian Ocean on the other. We stayed in a villa with direct access to the open ocean, and falling asleep to the sound of waves was magical. Our days were filled with a variety of activities: • Morning Yoga: A rejuvenating way to start the day. • Kids Club Activities: Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the engaging sessions. • Excursions: • Snorkeling with Turtles: An unforgettable experience. • Deep Blue Snorkeling with Guides: Thrilling and mesmerizing. • Evening Trips to Sharks: Awe-inspiring. • Sunset with Dolphins: Pure magic. • Scuba Diving: Our first-ever dive was made memorable thanks to instructors Yana and Victor. • Special Lunch at the Beach: Indulging in paella and sangria with our toes in the sand was delightful. • Mother-Daughter Massage at the Spa Centre: A relaxing and bonding experience. • Evening Entertainment at the Rainbow Bar: From disco nights to karaoke and face painting, there was never a dull moment. • Countless Swimming and Snorkeling at the Home Reef: Located just in front of our villa, we spent hours exploring the vibrant marine life. Later, we discovered a few more spots of the home reef. One was particularly enjoyable, but another near the water villas was not reachable in the last days of our stay due to strong ocean currents. Nature always brings its conditions; probably the full moon also had an effect on the strong currents despite the wonderful weather. Culinary delights were abundant: • Daughter’s Favorite: Twice daily, she relished pasta dishes, each time with a different delectable sauce, and couldn’t get enough of the homemade ice cream.
