OYO 799 Hotel Dieng

So... where to start... Family trip, two adults and one child. We left it late to choose accommodation in Berastagi, we settled on this hotel. Booked by ***********. The positives: it's well located in the heart of town, without being too noisy. There's plenty of space. Cleanliness is average but acceptable. There's a very well-stocked fruit market near the Tourist Office, recommended (there are other markets). Plenty of restaurants nearby. The negatives: When we arrive, there's only one double bed. We ask for an extra bed, the employee brings one but asks for 100,000 rupees more. I want to go pay at the reception, but he insists that I pay him directly... basically it's going to end up in his pocket. Tired, I pay. We're offered a room, the sink plumbing is constantly leaking. I report it, we are put in another room, here it is the plumbing of the toilet shower that leaks. I close the inlet valve and it will be fine for the night. The next day we ask to go to the Sibayak volcano. The same employee takes us there, the owner too because she wants to go shopping. It is not at all her route, we do not understand what she is doing there... except once we arrive at the parking lot: there she asks to be paid immediately for the rental of car with driver, she wanted money for her shopping! I refuse, we are not at her service! In short, if you have no other accommodation solution, you can fall back on this hotel. But otherwise, avoid it.
