Northern Pearl is a nice and very safe hotel, with beautiful gardens, and a truly excellent restaurant (especially the Indian options!). The staff were very friendly, and I had a very pleasant experience throughout. However, while it is comfortable, the accommodation is not the best value, especially compared to alternative options in Gulu. The rooms could use a little work, the bathroom in particular needs an upgrade, while I also had some issue with cockroaches, caterpillars, and mice in the room.

This hotel keeps dogs that are released without informing guests. I got attacked in the night by dogs and it was a terrible experience especially since I was not informed at the check-in. It was a big trap and it was also very strange for a hotel to have dogs roaming the compound. I asked the guard and he pointed me to a small note in the room mentioning the fact. The rooms do not have phone extensions for guests to get help from the reception desk. So, you have to move to the reception physically. If you insist that this hotel is your choice, please be very careful, especially for those travelling with children or heart problems. You may witness your worst travel experience while in Gulu.

Good place to stay for an overnight stopover in Gulu. Clean and comfortable and excellent food all at a very affordable price Accommodation is in good sized bandas in a pleasant garden setting. The hotel is situated in a relatively quiet locality. Would definitely consider using it again if travelling onto northern Uganda Thank you

Une super adresse à ne pas louper avec une excellente qualité de service et de grandes chambres très propores. Un hôtel au calme, très bien gérer par une famille aux attentions multiples. Dès mon arrivée une impression d'être reçu comme un membre de la famille, autant par les patrons que leurs collaborateurs. Les propriétaires sont vraiment de bons conseils pour organiser votre visite dans la région ou votre safari ainsi que pour toute autre question sur la région et sur le pays. Si vous êtes adepte de la cuisine indienne, c'est l'adresse ou il faut aller. J'espère y retourner un de ces jours. Vous n'allez pas le regretter

Great place, very peaceful and well located in Gulu. The food is really tasty and has affordable prices and a lot of choices. Comfortable private rooms and bathrooms. Bar area and nice management :) Definitely recommand it.

I travelled to attend a evening party and overnight stay. The place is peaceful, service is top class. I really like the gardens in the middle of property. all the public areas are tastefully decorated with different flowers. Food is amazing, accommodation is cottage style and has all necessary amenities like hot water, TV, Fan, Ac and cotton beddings etc.

I stayed here for a few days and had dinner in the restaurant twice. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I felt 100% welcome. The room (a small standalone cottage, actually) was good (not perfect: the bathroom needs some upgrading) and fairly priced. The gardens are full of mango trees and really good for relaxation. The food in the restaurant is really decent.
