"It's a lovely place for 2 nights stay. The hotel is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff texted me before my arrival to provide passcode for self check in. Free mini bar with mineral water, chips, cookies, fruit juices was great! Just to note that located slightly off the main tourist attractions, around 20min walk away. Me and husband don't mind walking a bit so we recommend this place!"

"Beautifully decorated home with detailed finishing touches - the photos don’t do the place justice! We got a room in front of the garden - it was great to wake up with a coffee, vinyl playing and people watch a little. The home is in a convenient and clean location - Inés was amazing and helpful every step of the way while we communicated via WhatsApp. The home has all you need to feel like a true home away from home - every detail is thought of. Could not recommend this place enough! We were so relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

"It's a very nice hotel. It provides breakfast with a variety of varieties. The grandma in the restaurant is very kind. She especially likes the croissants from Monday to Wednesday. It is the best I have ever eaten. Please note that it is not the small croissant coated with sugar on the outside.
In addition, if friends who like pizza go to the local area, they must try the pizza there. At that time, I just wanted to finish it quickly and continue to open the map, so I randomly found a restaurant and ordered the Oporto Bella Margheritta, which is about 10 euros and 12 inches. The first bite left an impression on me. The experience of eating pizza for the first time. After eating it, you will unconsciously start to question what the long pizza-like things you have eaten before are. Increase the amount"

Amazing
YYUWEII had a wonderful stay at Ruby Charm Houses. The host was extremely kind — he personally welcomed me outside when I arrived and also came to say goodbye when I left. He patiently gave me travel suggestions tailored to the length of my stay and reminded me of important things to keep in mind during my trip. The environment itself is beautiful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding, though unfortunately my schedule was too tight to fully enjoy it.
What impressed me most was the thoughtful hospitality: plenty of high-quality complimentary food, fresh fruit, drinks, and even local red wine were provided. Everything was well prepared with great care. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I truly appreciated the host’s attention to detail.
GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment.
Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately.
The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied.
The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too.
Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out.
The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.
GGuest UserAmazing location, in the middle of everything you need to see & all the restaurants, patios, live music, etc.
The hotel & the room is tiny but that’s expected with a historical place like this.
We stayed in room#2 & it had a window facing the historical wall of this building, so don’t count on much of a view or natural light!
A little bit of uphill but again that’s Porto, you can hardly get around without uphills & downhills!
The owner Maria & the manager Martha are attentive & caring & ensure you have a great experience with your stay.
When we arrived a welcome Portuguese tart was offered which was delicious & also Martha said you can pour yourself Port wine (also super tasty) any time,
OOften TravelerClean and well-located, but AVOID the basement ‘double room’
The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and in a great location with friendly service.
However, I stayed in the basement-level ‘double room’.
It’s located at the front of the property, directly at street level, with two small windows facing the pavement — making it difficult to get fresh air or natural light, and quite noisy due to passing pedestrians and cars, even with the windows shut and earplugs in.
The photos captures many of the other room types charming features, which can be misleading for the double room in basement.
In this particular room, ventilation was poor due to its position, and a musty smell from the bathroom lingered throughout the space.
Given the price of this ‘double room’, it’s better off booking elsewhere — somewhere less charming but more practical — OR booking the other room types I assume are upper-level room to avoid the drawbacks of this front-facing basement unit.
GGuest UserIdeal location, you can get to the metro minutes 10-15 on beautiful streets. Nearby a ton of cafes and restaurants of different price categories.
The room itself is not big. There is no refrigerator. But it is very comfortable. There were no cockroaches, no ants, no dirty clothes as it was written in other reviews.
There are a few night bars downstairs. It's very noisy, the guilt of the votes. But it doesn't stress me, I can sleep at least on a disco. But 99% of people won't like it. There are berushes in the room, but they're unlikely to help.
The biggest minus of a hotel that overlaps a lot of its pluses is that the staff member can enter your room without your consent and permission in your absence. Like they did to me. What they did there was not clear, but there was a dirty black straw (photo applied).
MMaduroSuper pleasant stay, in a central place but very quiet. The clean and very large room. I had everything I said in the description. Impolite bathroom. Entry system with very good code and video surveillance. I had to walk to another hotel to pay the taxes but I was just 10 minutes walking.
11101083851This hotel is generally good, it is renovated from the old house, the cleanliness and comfort are quite high, the facilities are general, because there are more old-fashioned doors and windows and local motorcycles and gasoline cars, so the noise is very loud, plus the croaking of Shanghai, for people who sleep lighter may not be able to choose Where to stay.
FFUNG TZEThe location is good. There is a supermarket and a fast food restaurant. The contact area is a bit dark and the appearance is a bit old. It is easy to wonder if you have booked the wrong place😁. The room is not big but clean. There are some small restaurants downstairs of the hotel.
GGuest UserThis is a family-run hotel with an excellent location. The service attitude of the father and son is excellent, and it feels like going home. The restaurant next to the hotel is a retro-style specialty restaurant. There are fado and jazz piano performances in the afternoon and evening. The service is warm, the price is not expensive, and the taste is great! We'll be there every night! A hundred meters walk is the famous Harry Potter Bookstore, and other attractions are not far away on foot. It’s a great travel and accommodation experience!
GGonçalvesJeffersonI'm s little scared because the no one answered the phone but in the end the reception is open 24h. The room isn't bad for the price. Totally clean, only smells a little cigarette, especially to me and my wife don't smoke.
In the end, not a bad choice.
