1850 Hotel Boutique

I loved my stay at Hotel 1850. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. The location was central and excellent for accessing beautiful Guanajuato.

We recently stayed in this lovely boutique hotel as part of a last-minute trip to Guanajuato. From the moment we arrived in the city, every service was performed in a friendly, cheerful manner. I say "arrived in the city," because the bellmen actually met us at one of the city garages to pick up our bags and guide us to the hotel, which is conveniently located across from the Jardin de la Union. While there was some initial confusion about our room, day manager, Betty, quickly dealt with the situation that more than met our needs. She and the rest of the staff made us immediately feel at home. Our room was large, comfortable, and very well-appointed. I have to say that the bed here was the most comfortable of our nearly two week trip around central Mexico and the shower was blessedly powerful to ease those muscles after long days of walking the hills of the city. While rooms facing the plaza probably experienced some noise at night, our room faced the interior courtyard and it was very quiet. Breakfast was included in our package and was served at a restaurant just down the street. I actually think this is a good idea in that there are plenty of menu choices and staff to serve you. We unfortunately didn't try the rooftop bar because the rain that came up during the evening. I'm sure we will try it when we return for our next stay at this lovely hotel!

We’ve stayed here twice & each time it gets better. They have a shuttle from Leon BJX Airport. The rooms are clean, quiet & good size. Housekeeping were accommodating with extra everything we needed. The greetings from all staff members; Bernisia, Hugo, Carlos, Angel, Magda, Pedro de Securite are el mejor! They are sincere & friendly. The concierge Clarissa was very helpful. The rooftop bar is comfortable with a great view, especially as the sun goes down. The service by Damian & Carlos was excellent! Try the pepperoni or margharita pizza they we’re delicious & the Martini Azul was very tasty. Don’t forget to try their Tequilas; Don Julio Sententa (70) was suave (smooth). The desayuno (breakfast) at Cafe Valadez is bountiful, delicious and the service from Luis was the best. This place is an extension of the Hotel 1850’s great service, a perfect match. The location could not be better. The Hotel 1850 is situated in the heart of the city at the Jardin de la Union, with shopping for clothes, restaurants, theatres, churches, farmacias & stores for souvenirs. There are vendors on the Jardin and celebrations going on, it seems, all the time. Don’t miss this chance to stay at the best location and the best hotel.

The location of this hotel is by far the best in the city. It is the heart of the town with everything in walking distance. The hotel is so beautiful and very private. The staff was always nice and pleasant to speak with in spanish and in english when needed. Great experience, from the moment we arrived at the airport until we were dropped off. We stayed in the Teresa room which faced the busy jardin. We have NO complaints about our room only that the closet space was minimum but who really cares about that. There was allot of noise especially at night due to the night life being active every night but we were able to sleep well despite I am a light sleeper. The windows have a double wooden closer that provides the noise to be minimum and keep the light out in the day. Our view from our Teresa room was the best and will defitnetly choose it again in our next visit. The breakfast vouchers for the restaurant next door "Casa Valdez" were great! We had options of redeeming them at the Starbucks next door (hmmm, we didn't travel to Guanajuato to drink Starbucks when we have it back in the States) or for a breakfast at Casa Valdez. I must warn you all the breakfast portions are large and delicious! The fitness room was really small and I was able to use it only once (again….on vacation) and was private. We were also able to enjoy the roof top bar which is beautiful with a gorgeous view. It is sad to say that there are not allot of people to enjoy it with as the times we went up it was empty. I would strongly recommend this Hotel for your stay in Guanajuato. We will return and stay here again.
