Great location and cute small hotel. The rooms do not have air-conditioning, which is fine, but upon opening window windows, flies get into the room. At least have a fly swatter available in the room. Pillows should be softer/fluffier. There was a fan available in the room, but it could be more powerful given the lack of air-conditioning and ability to open windows.

We’ve traveled all summer, and our meal at the Hotel de Ville was perhaps the best we had. The local trout and the quiche were truly exceptional. The hotel has a great location, but service and amenities are subpar. (The staff is as nice as can be. They just don’t seem to have much idea as to what guests expect from an experience standpoint.) Pillows were awful. Half a roll of toilet paper for a family of four. TVs and internet that wouldn’t work. Again, the staff was excellent and very apologetic, but they need a manager to come in and get things together for their guests. Next time, we’ll stay across the street and just have dinner at Hotel de Ville.

Really bad experience for an expensive hotel. Our room was boiling hot and the pillow was very flat. There were flies everywhere. We had dinner there and had to move tables because there were so many flies. The next table was a little better but still spent much of the meal swatting them away and trying to get them with the menu. For the breakfast, there were flies crawling all over the bread that was out. Besides that, the selection was the worst of any hotel we have stayed out so far and there was no alternative milk option at all. I did complain to the lady working and her response was, "I understand" but no resolution offered. I would never stay there again.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à l’occasion du week-end de Pentecôte à Gruyères. L’établissement est idéalement situé, en plein cœur de cette magnifique ville, parfait pour découvrir les environs. Les chambres sont confortables, bien aménagées et très propres. La literie est de qualité, ce qui nous a permis de passer des nuits très reposantes. La salle de bain est fonctionnelle, et tout est très bien entretenu. Côté restauration, il y en a pour tous les goûts, et le petit déjeuner est particulièrement généreux – mention spéciale pour les délicieuses meringues accompagnées de crème double ! L’accueil a été rapide, simple et chaleureux. Le personnel est disponible, souriant et vraiment attentionné. Un séjour parfait, que nous recommandons sans hésiter

Il paese di Gruyeres è come un salto nel tempo e soggiornare nel borgo medievale è come vivere la vacanza nel modo più vero. Questo hotel ben gestito, ha personale cordiale e disponibile, prezzo corretto, camere confortevoli e una buona colazione. Anche se il turismo di massa ha preso possesso di alcuni dei locali di Gruyeres, posso dire di riscontrare in questa struttura ancora una sorta di tradizione che si perpetua nel tempo (ero stato anni fa e mi sembra tutto come allora).

Really enjoyed our stay at Hotel de Ville (Apartment 12.) Was beautifully appointed and super comfortable for our family of three. Views from the apartment are picture-perfect, enjoyed coffee on the balcony in the morning (and could have hosted a dinner party for 8 with with well-appointed kitchen.) Streamed a movie after enjoying the day touring town.

Everything was perfect—we had a pleasant stay: very friendly staff, a spacious room with comfortable beds, a small but delicious breakfast buffet, and we were able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Gruyères on the terrace. A top location for exploring Gruyères.
