La vue sur le village et le Château est belle et le petit-déjeuner est vraiment copieux ! En revanche, l'hôtel est vieillot et pas rafraîchi. De surcroît, nous n'avons pas apprécié le fait d'avoir réservé une chambre avec balcon et d'avoir été déclassés dans une chambre sans balcon, ni d'avoir pu bénéficier d'un rabais sur le repas comme mentionné malgré le fait de l'avoir annoncé au restaurant et ensuite à l'hôtel qui nous a encore fait payer des frais d'envoi pour un objet oublié... bref, pas commerçant.

Take them all…raclette, fondue, meat and roast beef. absolute delight. a piece of advice, don't go to the choice of a wine, they will certainly be very good given the large cellar. take their unfiltered craft beer it's called cardinal...immense. and finally the Top! unexpected to scream towards the angels. the desert, fresh berries, a homemade cream and a white foam on the side. I would have eaten 10 but I was already served with them courses and I couldn't overdo it. We loved our stay at hotel de gruyères! Phenomenal location, comfortable and cozy rooms, very friendly staff, and great restaurant! Not only was our room cozy, but the view was incredible! Looking out to rolling hills, cows, deer, biplanes, and the storybook-like views you can only find in Switzerland is incredible. And the bed was comfortable. You cannot beat the location. Nestled at the entrance to the medieval city, staying here allows you to both easily walk anywhere in the city and park your car in their lot right by your rooms. No lugging your briefcase over cobblestones to get to your hotel in the medieval city, and no driving to get to the medieval city. And you aren’t sacrificing any beautiful architecture staying here - it’s a great building. The restaurant is so good! We had a lot of fun with the raclette, and the ice cream and meringue dessert was huge but super fun. If I ever came back to Gruyeres, I would definitely stay here again. We had a great time!

Avons réservé une chambre quadruple pour deux adultes et un enfant. Pour le prix, on peut s attendre à beaucoup mieux car exiguë. Côté vue sur le château uniquement via un velux. Au niveau parking, très peu de place. Il faut payer un emplacement au parking public. Concernant le restaurant de l hôtel, ils ne pensent pas à privilégier les clients de l hôtel. Pas de place avons dû réserver à l extérieur. Bref on ne conseille pas du tout.

We stayed two nights end of November and booked spacious quadruple room on the 3rd floor, which had a Mountain view and side view on the castle. Everything was perfect: 1) Very close to the center of the village (there are only 2-3 hotels in such proximity to Gruyeres); 2) hotel is located on the hill, so you do not have to go up from public parking P1, P2 or P3; 3) private parking with 9 places and a couple of places for motorbikes (free of charge); 4) if private parking is full, the car can be parked on P1, P2 or P3 for 10 CHF per day or free of charge between 18:00 and 8:00; 5) room is equipped with a fridge, kettle, safe; 6) fabulous fresh breakfast with a lot of choices; 7) very friendly ladies on reception; 8) wellness center with sauna and hammam (can be booked and ready for use in one hour of heating) and small gym (well equipped); 9) restaurant with a terrace outside with an amazing view; 10) 5 min to the cheese factory and 15 min to chocolate factory by car. I would say the restaurant with limited selection of dishes but you get 10% discount at the reception.

Gut, dieser Betrieb ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Somit ist es schon etwas ringhörig. Was immer am Abend oder am Morgen auf der Etage los war, man hat es mitbekommen. Auch die Duschen der angrenzenden Zimmer waren sehr gut hörbar. Das Zimmer sauber, die Betten von guter Qualität und im Bad funktioniere alles bestens. Beim Frühstück fehlte nichts, ich würde es als sehr gut bewerten. Beim Einchecken unserer 16 köpfigen Gruppe war es etwas chaotisch. Ansonsten waren wir zufrieden.

On check in we requested a quiet room, we had an awful night due to problems with other noisy guests until 5.30 in the morning and there was no one in the hotel on duty to help. This should not be an AA rated hotel.
