Grund í Grundarfirði is a fantastic guesthouse in the town of Grundarfjörður. Despite being a budget accommodation, it didn’t feel budget at all. The rooms were well-kept, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. Its remote location outside the town means you’ll need a car to get there, but that seclusion comes with a big perk: it’s the perfect spot for northern lights viewing! Waking up to a million-dollar view of Kirkjufell was an unforgettable experience. If you’re exploring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and looking for an affordable yet incredible place to stay, I highly recommend this guesthouse!

Beautiful view, everything else was okay.
Appreciated their quick responsiveness in a question regarding check in yet they have no phone number listed on their site so was a but difficult to get a hold of them. Accommodations were a bit outdated and had a slight must/smoke smell yet beds were comfortable and thankful for the hot shower and the location and view were wonderful. Note, the showers are downstairs and 1 toilet upstairs.
