With a ton of other places to compare it to, let's just say my wife and I were very excited to see what all of the hype was about. First impression was good. Let me start with the pros 1. Resort is stunning and grounds are absolutely amazing. 2. Food was very good, not great but very good. 3. Room was spacious and very chic with a modern tropical touch to it. We had travertine room, with large tub inside room. 4. Entertainment was very good. Shout out to Jay, what a great singer Cons 1. This place definitely caters to guest who book elite status rooms with a butler. Every morning all of the good chairs and Bali style beds were taken by butler guest. You always knew because of the blue coolers. In my 5 nights we never had a chance to get any of the good seats. This turned my wife and I off. 2. Alcohol- sandals advertises Premium Liquor. If you consider Titos, Sky and Smirnoff vodka premium. I'm okay with titos, but what about Grey Goose, Belvedere, Ciroc, Kettle one? Also top tequila was tremana. But they advertise Don Julio and Patron, it was nowhere to be found. 3. For the most part the staff was great, but the service at the pool ******. No one serving drinks, unless you were Butler Elite Status, Again another miss. 4 lastly we have several issues with getting our room when we checked in. We sat and waited for hours. First it was 2:30, then 3, then 3:30, then 4, and finally we got in at 4:30. Cleaning issues really made me feel like it was hit or miss. Overall we had a great vacation, because we made it great. Sandals in my opion is over hyped and very over priced. You like what you like. We'll keep giving Excellence and Secrets our dollars.
