Me and my bestie had an awesome time. The food on the buffet I’ve never seen that much food, every cuisine you could think of. The Jamaican food was delicious.I’m talking about chocolate tea, cornmeal porridge, mangoes, Ackee n Saltfish, brown stew chicken, curry goat, rice, and peas. The foam party, the pool race, so much fun!. The entertainment staff were great. Love Bubbles. The lifeguards were wonderful. We were in the junior suite area, and I sat under a mangrove tree every day and read and swim in the ocean. My favorite person at the resort was Malik who was our introduction to Riu Ocho Rios. He was a delight every time we saw him on the property. Thank you Malik.

I had a great time at RIU Ocho Rios. Food was great, staff were great. My wife left her iPad in the room safe and the staff helped retrieve it. She is very grateful.

#1 the hotel has German roaches, this is a hard no for me I’m sorry. I slept with my lights on remainder of the trip #2 on day 2 of my stay, I got dinner from the main hall, halfway through there is a huge fly cemented in my pasta, they immediately took the plate, I didn’t get a pic and while discussing with the chef, he is asking which part of the food the fly was, it doesn’t matter the point is that it was there dead, second hard no for me #3 compensation, two souvenirs and they changed our eating reservation to speciality restaurants for remainder of the trip (was a large group), last day we are booked for steakhouse. Some of our party was late to dinner. First we were unable to enter without members being present which I understand but if the restaurant has a cancellation policy after 15mins when you see a whole group waiting this should be your first communication. Supervisor on duty Travis who has no manners no empathy no customer service skills tells us after the 15mins he has to cancel the reservation. Don’t get me wrong I understand policies but communication is key and given the situation of what we went through in main dinning I expected a bit more empathy not a don’t carish arrogant one On the positive the low level of tactical staff are humble and nice, they are the ones that go above and beyond to make the experience a memorable one however I will never be back. Wasn’t worth my money

Nice resort. Not overly crowded. Good food and helpful staff. Food in sports bar could’ve been better (more choices) but restaurants were very good and had good variety. Beds were hard but not completely uncomfortable. Elevators small and sometimes not working.

10 night stay and it's been the best holiday we have ever had. Hotel was fantastic 90% of staff were lovely and TBH I can understand why the 10% were offish, some people speak to them like absolute dirt! Food not a bad thing to say Italian restaurant was our fav but the buffet was excellent. Entertainment team were excellent the white party was outstanding. We are from the UK and tipping is not an everyday thing for us but we tipped all through the holiday . Ladies on the beach to the left of the wedding stand for braids were so so lovely take anything your leaving over to the girls. Our maid Norma is an absolute credit to the hotel she done an outstanding job. We booked all our trips and transfers with Rocky RCM and I can not praise these guys enough,club moboy is so worth every penny especially on arrival, use these local guys you will not be disappointed 💯🇯🇲 We would return in a heartbeat it's our 3rd time to the hotel but first since the refit a few years back. Thank you Riu we will be back!

First the positives: Beach is nice and plenty of chairs and umbrellas. No cabanas on the beach. Water is nice and calm and very beautiful. Water park was fun for the kids. Bar service was excellent and friendly would be nice if they had servers to serve you at the pool and beach. Negatives: Food was mostly inedible even at the restaurants. Very hard to find anything I liked at all. Staff not super friendly and we tip very everyone very well. No wait servers around the pool or beach. No cabanas even to rent and sun can be brutal. Rooms and beds not super comfortable or nice. The hotel we stayed at next to airport in Chicago has nicer accommodations. Resort activities were lacking and or for partyers. The kid's club was a joke with no activities and limited times no babysitting offered either. Place needs a face lift inside and out and nicer staff.

I am currently still on the resort. This by far, compared to other resorts I have visited both in Jamaica and other countries has been the worse. The resort boast 24 hours food but at times the only food available is the stale food at the sports bar. We are staying at the family rooms, and when we take a shower there's a pungent smell coming from the shower. The smell is horrendous and reeks of poop. Our electronics wont charge fully unless we plug them in the restroom. the mini bar is stocked every other day, which is awful when you have teenagers in the room. Stacey at the front desk was amazing, but others on the resort should learn from her. We won't be returning.
