I don't stay at Embassy Suites very often, because I'm always underwhelmed. Nice lobby areas, immediately adjacent to a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and certainly walkable to the Greenville food and shopping scene. But the hotel room itself is straight out of 1987: yellow color-temperature lighting, smells like dirty socks upon entering, Grandma's leftover brown & rust-colored draperies... and whoever certificates hotel architects must simply be a diploma mill: Two entrances to the bathroom, but the one from the bedroom requires you to walk in the dark across the bathroom to turn on the lights. Why not a three-way switch, one at each door? Cramped feel throughout. This hotel is nice, but I think I'll just stay at a Marriott Courtyard.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights in July. The hotel has a great location, just steps from the beautiful waterfall and park in downtown. It is close to restaurants, art, galleries, and Bike sharing. The rooms are spacious, but are in need of some routine maintenance. In one room, there was so much noise from the air conditioner or blower that we had to change rooms. And the next room, the air conditioning thermostat did not function and in the third room the drain in the bathroom was stopped up other than that the rooms were clean. The breakfast was good with-cooked to order omelets. Free happy hour had a limited selection of drinks but was otherwise OK.

The Embassy Suites in downtown Greenville SC is a very clean place and has a friendly staff. It is so confident to everything in downtown Greenville and near the awesome park. Just a walk away from food, shopping, adventure. Parking was easy and plentiful in the garage. Complementary snacks and drinks in the room were a plus.

Tara was exceptional at solving a billing issue for us. We reserved via Capital One Travel portal because had a credit to use (otherwise would have done directly via Hilton) but at checkout there was an issue so the quick thing that Tara "could have done" was charge my card on file and let me sort it out with Cap1 BUT no, she asked for Cap1 travel # to call and she sorted it out! Can't thank her enough!!! Wow! Also as like all Emb Suites, omelet bar included with free breakfast is hard to beat! Apparently happy hour only had 1 person working with a lot of people in line so recommend management to get some help there. But, back to guest service = recommend this hotel!! Will be back in 2 weeks and staying here again. Hope Tara is working so I can give her a High Five for 5 star service

The location of the hotel for downtown walking is really good. Self-parking adjacent to the hotel is only $7 per day compared to much pricier rates a few blocks away (or you can pay $25 for them to valet park your car in an open lot across the back street). The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were pleasant and helpful during our stay. The people attending the breakfast area were working so hard, could hardly keep up. They need more help! The breakfast food itself leaves a lot to be desired so don't have high expectations. Selections we thought were minimal for a marketed "full service" breakfast and not very healthy (greasy muffins, danishes, literally grease dripping from bacon and sausages). Coffee was in a machine dispenser and tasted stale or burned, not sure which. It was pretty bad and we were pretty disappointed. The room seemed pleasant enough and felt fairly updated. Where it fell short was the mattress was extremely old and creaky and the pillows were very lumpy and it all had the telltale BO smell to it. Thankfully we travel locally with our own pillowcases for encountering such issues. They really could replace the mattress and pillows and it would be a tremendous difference and allow folks to sleep well. There are lots of hotels in the area so it would pay to do your research. I doubt we would stay at this location on our next visit.

We chose to stay at the Embassy Suites Downtown Riverplace because of it's great location. My god-daughter and her mother were coming to town so she could pick out her wedding dress, and our room was perfect for us to relax and catch up. The hotel itself is immaculate. Our room was very clean, updated and as silly as this sounds, smelled great. Our view, while overlooking the roof of the lower level, normally wouldn't have been that great, but what a cool mural painted on it, made it so much more interesting. The beds were comfortable and slept wonderfully. Every staff member we encountered for the hotel was kind and helpful, even with 2 weddings going on at the same time! We also loved this hotel because we could easily go to the rooftop restaurant for the evening, which was fine but I think we'll choose somewhere else next time. Again, this is a GREAT location, and we loved everything about it. I'll definitely plan to stay here again.

We loved our stay at this embassy suites! We had no lines for the evening reception or for breakfast- The bold coffee was quite tasty for a hotel coffee and the omelets were perfect. The room was very clean and we loved the layout of the room with both the living room and bedroom having windows. Nice selection of toiletries in the bathroom. The only bad side of the room was that we could not get the room to cool down- it was so hot all night I had to sleep with the blankets down at my legs- I wouldn’t be able to stay here in the summer if there’s no AC. The location is perfect- right along the river and walkable to so many restaurants and of course the falls park. We liked that we didn’t have to do valet and could park in the lower garage instead for $7. Loved this hotel and would definitely stay again if in the area.

Enjoyed our 40th Anniversary in Greenville and highly recommend staying at Embassy Suites! We had a King Suite and it was immaculate. The bed and pillows were so comfortable The spacious bathroom with a walk in shower was exceptional. The entire suite was exactly what we wanted and was immaculately clean. We walked most places but did go out in our Jeep several times. At at Up on The Roof and it was delicious. If you park in the parking deck yourself, it is a much better value than valet. Hope we get to come back to stay again soon.

Clean, perfect location to experience DT Gville, awesome service. We had a balcony room. Scenic views. We had questions about reservation and staff was very responsive. Breakfast/lobby area served as an easy gathering spot for leisure activity and helped the trip flow. We went to the roof top bar. Make sure you see the views from it.
