The Winter Inn

I give this rating and write this review with full understanding and acceptance that this is a century old hotel that was built above a bar. If you can not accept these things move on, I sought them out!!!! The charm of this hotel grabs you from the first time you walk up the narrow stairway with an all hardwood entrance. You can tell it has been lovingly kept up without any major renovations. It has all the modern amenities including ample hot water, cold A/C (in the hottest week of the year), Direct TV, WIFI, a coffee maker, alarm clock a comfortable mattress and pillows. What more could you ask???? Now for those who might not accept things that go with my very first sentence. Yes the building is not sound insulated meaning you can hear street noise and noise from the bar below. Yes it does have that century old building smell (wonderful), yes there is some fraying and wear marks in the carpet and chairs (not the mattress that was great). If you want a hotel with that new smell and everything perfect keep rolling, if you want century old charm and can accept the above, this is your place to stay. NOTE: This place is the farthest thing from handicap accessible as the only access is through a narrow stairway to the second floor, so if you have mobility issues this hotel is not for you.

The best thing about this stay was the bar under the rooms. Room was dirty, we had to be up early and the music was so loud from the bar all night. Communication on how to check in and out isn’t very clear. Also no tv remote for the tv.

Great place not great if you have trouvle sleeping I understood it was a hotel above a bar but when music was still playing full blast at 3:30 am made it hard to stay asleep

Quaint and cozy Cozy room, a little updating could help, a couple outlets didnt work in the room. But friendly, easy check in. Room was clean, air conditioning worked well.

Great place Very comfortable and clean. Felt like the old west having to walk through the bar to get to your room. Very friendly staff.

Stay clear Receptionist appeared to not know her job that well. The room was small. Room smelt like mildew. Only can get hot water from tub (not the sink). The restaurant played loud music from jukebox until 0200. The website failed to mention that restaurant and hotel was above one another, which is reason for the loud music which keep guests awake.
