Visited the hotel today for a funeral wake with my very elderly mum who walks short distances with a rollator. She is unable to negotiate stairs so we used the disabled access entrance at the rear of the hotel. Once in, there is a very long walk (for someone who has mobility problems) to the lift then, once out of the lift, another lengthy walk to the Ardgowan room where the wake was being held. I asked a member of staff if there was a wheelchair available that we could use to transport my mum back to the car which was parked at the rear of the hotel. The answer was no. I had to leave mum, go to the care home where she is a resident and borrow a wheelchair as there was no way she could have negotiated the lengthy corridors to get back to the car. I understand that in an old building, creating disabled access can be difficult however, given the lengthy corridors which have to be negotiated from the disabled access, it may be an idea for the hotel to have a wheelchair available on request for those customers who are unable to walk the required distances (but don't normally use a wheelchair).

Hôtel calme, proche du centre ville, accueil sympathique, chambre et salle de bain propres et très confortables (draps de bain ultra moelleux). Restaurant simple et bon (excellent fish and chips). Bon petit déjeuner complet (personnel de service au petit déjeuner pas très agréable, mais c'était peut être exceptionnel). Situation parfaite si vous devez partir en croisière, port d'embarquement accessible facilement à pied même avec des bagages.

Ran an event at the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely staff. Super Clean hotel and very comfortable. Would I return ... absolutely. I had read a few of the reviews and have to say that the beds and pillows were fabulous. This hotel is steeped in history. The architecture is stunning. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing. Looking forward to returning next year xxxx

Great hotel with friendly staff. Amazing food. Honeymoon suite ( Georgian suite) room 6 would certainly recommend comfortable bed large and spacious. Double shower. Very clean. We got married here last year. So no better place than to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.

Clean, comfortable and friendly. A family owned hotel where the staff care for the customers. On site parking. That's all I need to say but this review requires 200 characters until it's accepted. So this is just padding it out. Great hotel, no complaints.

Stayed one night on business. Room clean and tidy, good sized walk in shower.
Down side only 2 single sockets, one for the television other one had to use for Kettle and charging phone and tablet. Not very practical

Lovely welcome, large clean well appointed room. Decor is fresh but respectful of the age of the building.
Staff invariably friendly and helpful. My only glitch was a somewhat fitful supply of hot food at the breakfast.
