We had booked a 2 night stay for a wedding which unfortunately didn’t happen due to the storm. £120 for both nights with breakfast one morning. The man on reception booked us in ok and off we went to our room. Room smelled mouldy and badly run down. Windows filthy so couldn’t really see the water. Room was really empty with no chair to sit on and the bedside table as you can see was falling to bits. Went back to reception to ask for a better table to be told that ‘ they are all like that, they charge a fortune for the rooms but won’t get them new furniture’! Breakfast was served to order, very poor. Cold eggs and beans, 1 tiny bit of bacon so asked for more as for the price I felt it should have been much better. We stay at premier inns a lot, especially St Andrews which is lovely, clean and a breakfast to set you up for the day. Really disappointed. Won’t be staying again.

Absolute naff , bed too high too hard , pillows crap . View not that special out the smallest window and price was atrocious for the Saturday night , not enough chairs for a room for 4 ie there was 1 . Apart from that we had a lovely time , food for breakfast was good

The hotel was nice, the staff were friendly but when I got into the room, there was water in the wash basin - not sure what the liquid was - hope it was water! The room was very warm and I tried to turn the thermostat down using the instructions provided but this did not work - it was set at 24.5 degrees and when i returned from my night out it was at 30 degrees - was the windows don't open you can imagine how hot the room was. Did mention to reception about the problem, they know, it's jus tone of those things. Breakfast the next day was good, the host was very nice and the coffee was hot - not like a lot of hotels were it is lukewarm at best.

I have previously visited here over 30 times in the last 20 years, this was my first visit since 2022 and we had a terrible experience, we had driven 6hrs for a family funeral and booked for 2 nights but after 1 night decided to drive home due to the awful night sleep and the dreadful service and food at breakfast. The whole hotel looks very tired, the bathroom was visibly mouldy on the bath side and the walls. it was obvious by the carpark that most of the people staying were workmen, they all started leaved from 6am and our room door was next to a door in the corridor, this door banged shut every time someone left, by 7am this was every 10 minutes and it echoed through the room. We booked breakfast for 9.30am, the restaurant was empty, the one member of staff told us to help ourselves to continental and she would be over in a minute to take our cooked breakfast order, we helped ourselves to coffee, there was 4 slices of white and brown bread on display which by the feel of them had been there since service started, there was only 1 option of pastry and no bagels. No apple juice available and enough for 1 glass each of orange juice. The staff member came over to our table and said "do you just want 2 fry ups" on all previous visits there have been menus on the table which shows all the food available for the cooked breakfast, I explained what me and my husband did not want on our breakfast, she then said "fried egg ok" my husband asked for scrambled egg, by her face you would have thought we had asked for it lined with gold!! The cooked breakfast arrived, the black pudding and sausages were so overcooked they were not edible, I have no idea how the scrambled egg was made but again it was not edible. I would have spoken to the server about this but we never saw her again, we then left the restaurant with no staff member in sight. Such a shame this place has gone down hill so badly, we visit so many different premier inns, i think it's time we look at other options.

Not one of the best we've been too, we booked for a week and were originally put in a room which was very dark and dimly lit. We asked to be moved which Lynne helpfully obliged and moved us to a room overlooking the 'Firth of Clyde' and left a complimentary box of chocolates which was a nice gesture. As for the evening meal on our first night we were extremely disappointed, my wife's meal didn't look very appetising and was of poor quality, amongst other issues my wife asked for a irish coffee only to be told the machine had been cleaned and this was only at 8pm. This ment we had to find somewhere else for our remaining six evenings. To be fair the staff were in general very pleasant

Upon arrival first impression is to turn around and go else where the building is dated and scruffy looking , including the old brewers fayre , then reception are gets worse the carpets are a disgrace as they are in every hall way with patched repairs , room was better although the chairs where stained sleep was nt great something was getting knocked all the wall in the room opposite when they were walking around. No milk available until next day for tea and coffee . Would I stay here again definitely not
