I’ve given this place 5 stars because I can’t give it more It’s an idyllic paradise set in beautiful grounds The rooms are large gorgeous cortages all on the ground floor with French doors to their own courtyard and easy access to the lovely pool, gym and yoga areas The food is excellent but the crowning glory is the service The manager is a lovely self effacing guy who claims it’s all down to his team and a lot of what he says is right But staff respond well to good management so he has to take a lot of credit And then there is the duty manager A woman of humble origins who is as beautiful a soul as you could ever meet Between them and their staff we had the greatest time and were soooo sorry to leave A delight

I seldom reply to requests for reviews, but Hunter's Country House more than earned an exception. In short, it is simply a perfect place for a stay of total pampering. Every single member of the staff from top to bottom is dedicated to make the guests feel at home and have their every request fulfilled.We checked in for two nights to celebrate my birthdate, and wound up staying for six... we'd still be there if we hadn't had commitments elsewhere. I don't think I can say strongly enough what a fabulous stay we had --- beautiful location, delicious food at every meal, delightful accommodations, and above all, a wonderful team of wonderful people whose only desire seemed to be to make guests happy. They succeeded! We will definitely go back whenever we can.

Amazing stay at Hunters Country House
Absolutely fabulous. From the check in with welcome drinks and a tour of the property. Fabulous restaurant where the chef takes the utmost care to address food allergies. The staff were all amazing. The place is beautifully presented. Highly recommend.

This estate is amazing! The surroundings are outstanding, the rooms and facilities simply exquisite. The service is professional and very friendly. The location is ideal to get to the Elephant sanctuary and Plettenberg Bay. We just couldn't fault this place and will definitely be back given the chance!

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are treated like a true guest. The staff are a credit to the business, they are polite, courteous and always willing to help. The manager, Travis, greeted us on arrival and made sure we got our suitcase, which had been left at the airport. The rooms, gardens and pool area are beautiful, the attention to detail is superb. We ate in all the restaurants and all the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Don’t hesitate to book Hunters Lodge! We travel a lot and this is the best place to stay. Personal ànd the owner are really great. Service is impeccable
