Mount Pleasant Hotel

I am baffled by the positive reviews. The hotel is unloved, has the dirtiest carpets I've ever seen and the rooms are barely above basic. Unfortunately we stayed on a very hot day in the cheapest room (albeit for £200) and the room was airless. Our window only lifted 10cm and the fan couldn't combat the heat. Alas the rotten window frames weren't rotten enough to add to the draft! The breakfast offering was meagre with very basic quality ingredients for the continental part. The hot items were surprisingly well cooked and good quality. However, they took 30 mins to come out and we watched as a couple arrived after us, ordered after us and yet received their order ahead of us. This appeared to be due to their complaint about the wait time. The waiter assured us the chef was working in order but when this was pointed out to him, his response was just to stare at me. Reception assured us that the wait is usually 20mins for a hot breakfast so felt a wait of 30mins was just fine. Bare this in mind if you have somewhere to be. On the plus side, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfy and the young man on reception was lovely.

This is a lovely hotel situated in a very convenient location in Malvern. The room we had was well-appointed although the bedroom was right over the door to the car park and people will let the door slam behind them! Good service, good breakfast and friendly staff. It would be great if there was a loyalty scheme of some sort - we've been to Malvern five times in the last couple of years - four of them at this hotel - and a loyalty scheme would be useful. Also, as this is an old hotel it would be nice if there pictures on the wall of what it used to look like.

A large room at the front of the hotel with an excellent view of the Priory and town. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are large and well cooked.

Fabulous stay, views from our room were amazing, bed was so comfortable! Staff were super helpful and the breakfast was good. We upgraded to a superior room and for the extra I would say it was well worth it. First time in Malvern and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

A very disappointing stay at this conveniently situated hotel. Whilst we opted for a standard room we were expecting far better than what we got for our £198.00, which included a mediocre breakfast. The carpet was dirty and stained and there had obviously been a damp issue by the door at some point that they had painted over. The towels and bed linen were not of good quality. The route to the room was up and down steps and involved having to walk outside at one point to reach the main hotel, which felt slippery in the rain. Whilst the hotel does offer electrical charging points they are difficult to access, especially when non electric cars are parked longways on the same level, plus the slope or steps you have to either walk up or down would make it nigh impossible for anyone with mobility issues to access them. Back to the breakfast, you get far better choice at The Premier Inn on the outskirts of the town.
