They hardly clean the bathrooms - there was a terrible stench coming out of the bathtub drain and the actual bathtub was also dirty and the manager on duty was not fazed when she was informed about this. The very worst experience :(

Hotel recently modernised. Rooms was very nice, clean and modern. Reception areas was still very dated. I was on the ground floor. Real bad issue with noise transference from upstairs. Was kept awake by booming footsteps from the room above. This started again at 5.30am for two hours. Only place to eat locally was the Hungry Horse pub. Was empty and in need of modernisation. Breakfast was in the same place and was rubbish. A sad stand with the remains of a loaf of stale bread. No butter or clean plates. Smell of sewerage in the restaurant or something unpleasant. Really loud music coming from the kitchen.

The hotel room was smart, clean and appeared freshly decorated. Staff were obliging and friendly. Location very convenient for Northampton with good car parking. No complaints. But BEWARE dismal breakfast experience at Hungry Horse restaurant next door - reviewed separately. We visited Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum, 78 Derngate (Charles Rennie Mackintosh house), Piddington Roman Museum and Wrest Park on our way home.

Our recent stay was as you would expect from a Premier Inn. However our stay was let down by the restaurant attached. We've never been dissuaded from choosing the Premier Inn breakfast before but The Hungry Horse actively limit what you choose from the Premier Inn menu. The tea was brewed in tepid, lukewarm water. The toaster did bit work and the yoghurts were not kept chilled. The cooked premier inn breakfast was a set menu. You could not chose which cooked items you wanted. So we were therefore forced to choose from the restaurants own menu. When the food eventually came it was not the best. The whole restaurant experience put a damper on our whole stay.

I had a good night's sleep but the hotel was tired with no bar and the adjoining pub doesn't have the standard Premier Inn breakfast so don't pre-book it, as you'll spend more than you need to. There is no regular running water, both the sink and the shower sprinkle very little low pressure water.

This hotel has recently had a refit , looks very fresh and clean . the rooms are spacious . The bathroom was nicely decorated with a decent shower , you can choose from a overhead rain type shower or use a hose with a traditional type shower head, useful if you didn't want to get your hair wet. The bed as always was very comfortable . I like the blackout curtains and the fact you can open the window slightly. Reception staff helpful and friendly . The only thing I found strange is there is a breakfast menu in the room but the hotel does not have a restaurant. There is however a pub next door which does food which includes breakfasts.

The hotel was perfectly located for a trip to Northamptonshire's public records office, only a five-minute drive away.

We have stayed here once a year for the last 6 years for an annual event we attend, and great to see a refurb has finally taken place. Stayed in a premier plus room, very comfortable and at the standard expected, only downside was lack of free view channels on TV, a very limited viewing option. Only premier plus rooms have air conditioning. The reception staff when checked were great, very friendly and personable. We booked to go to breakfast on the Saturday of our 2 night stay, this is at the pub next door and advertised in the rooms. This was the only thing that let the hotel down and stopped it being a 5/5 for me. Breakfast should have started at 8am, went to pub and it was locked and in darkness, asked at hotel reception and didn’t seem interested. Opened about 5 mins later, but nothing was out or ready, no acknowledgment from the member of staff not even a hello. The tea and coffee you make yourselves and are just the sachets of coffee with a hot urn of water. Decided to give it a miss and grabbed breakfast elsewhere.

Very clean and comfortable. Lots of space in the room and able to get two twin beds. Great access to town.
