We stayed in the old Ginn house inn in October 24 for two nights. The staff were all very friendly and introduced themselves it is a lovely area and the public bus rounds right passed which is great if you want to see the area without driving. The food was lovely with a good choice from the menu. The accommodation was good with a good shower. we would stay again

Very nice place to stay. Food in the evening in the restaurant was excellent and the service was first class. Bit of a wait for breakfast in the morning, but this was because it was obviously cooked fresh and it was worth the wait. Local ingredients and tasted amazing. Room was spacious and clean, but I found the bed a bit uncomfortable and creaky and the shower wasn’t as hot as like, but the wife had no problems with it so maybe it’s just me!! The place itself gets 5 stars all round, but you can’t help some of your fellow residents…noisy, banging doors late into the night and the individual next door snoring so load that I thought he was in bed with is!!! Will definitely be returning in the future.

I booked 2 rooms for my friend, her daughter, and myself . Both rooms faced the entrance the rooms were roomy and clean . We had a delicious evening meal they are big portions not priced ridiculously and drinks reasonable too .we were in an alcove in the bar, which suited as as there was an event that had been going on all day ,this didn't affect us at all. We had a comfortable sleep, and the water was at a good temperature. Breakfast was plentiful and ready good . We would definitely recommend this hotel . Thank you .

Have stayed here a few times now with my parents over the past few years. It's always an absolutely wonderful stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bar is reasonably priced. The food is fantastic, again very reasonably priced and generously portioned. My parents tend to stay in the courtyard suite because one of them has mobility issues, and it's a wonderful suite. I usually stay in a classic/standard double, which suits my needs just fine, and the beds are comfy, the showers are great, etc. The only tiny negative I have is that the Wi-Fi can be hit and miss in rooms, which can make getting a bit of work done in the morning before breakfast and going out for the day or before dinner a little difficult. Looking forward to visiting again in May this year.

Have stayed twice over a 2 week period and in 2 different rooms. The first was room 1 the suite and close to the main bar and restaurant. It was lovely and spacious, lovely bathroom and even though it’s close to the entrance it is a quiet room. The 2nd room was across the way from the entrance and was a double room on the ground floor. No complaints here either. WiFi was hit and miss - only downside if I need to work. The food was lovely both at dinner and at breakfast. The bar had energy and great ambience. The staff were all great especially Lucy - nothing was too much trouble. Very down to earth and felt at home here. When I am back in Workington I will book again

I've stayed at this guest house/pub/restaurants 4 time's once with my other half a few years ago I've stayed with work 3 time's my last visit 23/14 September Found all staff always friendly, the food is good pub grub and lots of it ☺️ very tasty and lots to choose from The chef cooked breakfast is a good start to the day Rooms have everything you need on a night away tea coffee chocolate/biscuits shower gel. I stay away every week and travel all over the UK and have a lot of knowledge and can compare places you can't go wrong with places like this Price wise, I get B&B evening meal with drinks for the same price as a big chain hotel The only thing I would change is a bigger TV I don't understand or agree with the ranting reviews!! In life it's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice Some people need to get a grip nothing is perfect

Nothing stands out as worthy of high praise, it's all very average. What does grate is the unwelcoming attitude of the staff, they're efficient and functional but would be better employed outside the hospitality industry. Not on our repeat booking list.

Avoid Avoid Avoid Recently recive a reply from my experience at this establishment After turning up ,and not getting what the company booked , a double room bed , as on the pics it showed a double bed On arrival and checking in , it was a single bed x 2 , not suitable , big enough for a 8 year old child, never mind a adult , your/there response to my earlier review was , I was blah blah aggressive, when talking to the manager regarding this issue at the time There response can be seen on my earlier post I’m not welcome there ever again due to aggressiveness etc as they stated in there response! If that were the case myself being aggressive to the husband manager at the time (who by the way was laughing in my face, but still I remaind calm and professional and pointed this out , his professionalisim regarding this issue) Is it not every hotels policy that if a person is aggressive blah blah blah, towards staff for any reason , that person would have to leave, and the police be called for that persons behaviour and actions etc towards the staff and asked to leave Oops (I was not at all in any way aggressive as they stated in previous response , or police would of been called, instead I walked away very tired to my extra small single bed in the establishent that we never booked for And I was allowed to stay Mmm VERY VERY STRANGE THAT IS So aggressive I was not told to leave the establishment there and then!! police were not called , at all for this so called aggressiveness or I asked to leave for this aggressiveness , as they stated in there previous response Makes you think DOESNT it Some one being very aggressive towards them They don’t ask you to leave , they don’t phone the police So obviously this can not be true at all MISTAKE ON THERE BEHALF FALSE ALLAGATIONS MADE TOWARDS MYSELF BUT YET NO ACTIONS TAKEN , as POLICY BY ALL HOTELS , for A PRRSONS BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS STAFF LIES LIES LIES BY THIS INDIVIDUAL MANAGER OR HIS OTHER HALF FALSE. STATEMENT MADE IN REPLY SAID IT ALL DIDNT EXPECT ANYTHING LESS MYSELF FROM THEM AS WE GOT ARE MONEY BACK FOR the 4 nights, even tho I had to rough it for 1 night / day 6 hrs as I was working night shift As false advertising on booking . Com for the stated room a double bed Pictures included for it on the site Not a single bed x 2 extra small Disgusted behaviour false allegations and lies from the so called managers Trying to cover up this matter And dishonour myself at the same time Avoid avoid avoid This is at most a £35 pound , being generous a night room hotel , out dated furniture, carpets , extra small beds (single) & toilet shower Not modern at all And room and furniture showing a lot of signs of age , old and dated , and rough THE TRUTH SO VERY VERY HURTS TO THEM THERE MANAGERS AND THE LIES THEY HAVE TOLD ABOUT MYSELF (aggressive ECT) EVEN WORSE NEVER HAPPENED OR I WOULD OF BEEN TOLD TO LEAVE HOTEL THERE AND THEN IF I WAS AGGRESSIVE IN ANY WAY , OR POLICE WOULD OF BEEN CALLED IF
