Stayed here whilst walking part of the Icknield Way. At the time only no evening meals, but bed and breakfast. However very friendly people who gave some good local recommendations. Rooms were large very clean and well maintained in a pleasant area. Usual tea, coffee, biscuits, towels and soaps etc all in room, nice warm building. Would recommend. Breakfast combination of help yourself healthy stuff and traditional substantial artery liner breakfast ( full English ) There a couple of pubs in town.

Great pit stop on way from Surrey to Norfolk. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was a great setup for our little spaniel, who was also made very welcome. Breakfast was a treat. Very likely we will call in again on our next adventure to the North Norfolk Coast.

Staying at the Crown House was the best hotel experience we have ever had! We were traveling with no specific plans and had intended to stay just one night, but we ended up staying an entire week! It was such a lovely place with a great location, and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Though they were not doing evening meals at the time of our visit, they recommended two very good pubs within walking distance; we tried both of them and were satisfied with the quality of the food and the staff. For us, breakfast was in the conservatory or the dining room and consisted of a "Full English" or an excellent selection buffet style. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and feel at home while you are traveling, this is definitely the place! 5/5 stars from us. I'm sure we will visit again someday and undoubtedly stay with them again. Just an absolutely fantastic experience!

Stayed at the Crown House for 2 nights. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Our room was in an annex across the courtyard. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very good with a great choice of food. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We held a funeral wake at The Crown House for around 50 people. Claire and the team took us through all our options and made the process of organising and holding the wake go very smoothly. The facilities were excellent with indoor and outdoor space with lovely gardens, the food was excellent and staff were always on hand when needed.

Do not book!!!! We are having a wedding in the area and booked months ago along with bookings for part of the wedding party. Out of the blue we received confirmation that they were cancelling our reservation, that was made last year. When they emailed they said that had to prioritise a wedding party for a local family. It’s shocking that we could book so far in advance for them to cancel so close to the date when everything else is already booked up I would encourage no one who wants a guaranteed bed to book with them. Go elsewhere they won’t even honour a booking made for a bride and groom!!

A very friendly privately run hotel. I've stayed here on several occasions over the past few years and the service has always been excellent. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The older building is listed and has somewhat crroked floors in a number of rooms. It's a nice quiet spot if, like me, you value a good nights sleep. The hotel doesn't do evening meals but there are two good pub / restaurants within a few minutes walk. If you want something other than bland chain hotels then this hotel is for you. Will return nextg time I'm in the area.

We stayed here on Friday the 15 December 2023. I can’t ask for a better friendly and most helpful hotel. I will returning very soon. The breakfast was lovely and the staff was also. Such a beautiful place to stay.
