The compasses inn is a hidden gem. It is far from any main roads and has been voted one of the best pubs for many years. Dining is uncoventional in that you have to choos from many options from a blackboard (rather quaint). The staff are extremely freindly

Authentic, rural pub. Was very busy the eveningbwe stayed but the staff were very fruendly & efficient. Dinner was great, pub food extremely well cooked & delicious! We also enjoyed an excellent breakfast, cooked & served by a friendly & super efficient member of staff. A great pit-stop for us. Thank you to all at The Compasses!

Beautiful rooms, lovely bed and bedding, lovely and quiet in delightful countryside 😊 the pub is great with lovely beer and superb food. Great stay for business in Chelmsford
