Lovely hotel. Staff are so friendly, helpful and always smiling. Food here is amazing and great value for money. Hotel is in a fantastic location and again a great price. Room is a good size and beat part the bed is so comfortable. Highly recommend.

Stifford Hall hosted our business annual kick-off meeting for the second year in a row. The staff had a truly lovely time, and the entire day ran seamlessly thanks to Jo & Sam (The events co-ordinators) exceptional efforts. The whole team worked incredibly hard to make sure everything was perfect - from making sure all the tables etc were set up in the meeting room as to how we had requested, to the outstanding food at dinner, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We truly appreciated how attentively all our requests were handled and how smoothly the event was managed from start to finish. Our staff travel from all over the UK so having a location close to London was perfect and rooms onsite so that many of them could stay makes it the perfect venue. We would not hesitate to re-book for a third year as they make the organising so less stressful for us and our staff love it there! Special shout out to Joanne for her fabulous organising and Amanda who managed the evening staff and helped make the day run like clockwork.

Booked dinner for a birthday , restaurant was almost empty but that’s fine . The staff are this hotels biggest asset , it’s not palatial , the decor is a bit tired , it’s quirky with a library full of old books , but it delivers great service and charm in spades . We had a whole Camembert each for a starter with rustic bread and it was delicious , it would have been fine to share . Main course was so nicely presented , the chef obviously takes great pride in their work . I had the lamb , it was delicious . Dessert was a deconstructed lemon meringue , I wasn’t convinced to start but it was a triumph . We both delighted in the fact commercial radio was playing , so between courses we had the news and the weather , this just adds to the quirkiness , you almost feel like family . The grounds are just lovely . If someone spent a ton of money this could be a fabulous hotel but I think it might lose its delightful soul . Biggest congratulations to the wonderful team , they really looked and acted like they love their jobs .

This is a very understated hotel but has the most remarkable, helpful staff ever. Deana, Monika and Amanda gave us a most warm welcome and nothing was too much bother. They were all warm and friendly. The rooms are clean with large fluffy towels and the shower had good hot water. There were added small touches of two bottles of water per person by the bed - still and sparkling - which is always a bonus for us. The reasonable price we paid included breakfast served at the table, which was hot and tasty. The party we were attending had the most amazing food and attentive bar staff. Tables were constantly cleared and nothing was too much bother. I would certainly consider this place for a family party in the future.
