Property Description
The "Willow Haus" is a rustic 2-story home, situated alongside a trout stream in beautiful ranch country approximately 12 miles from the town of Philipsburg Montana. The property is accessed on Willow Creek Road, a maintained gravel road ½ mile from Highway 348, which is an incredibly beautiful drive. This 206 acre estate is a wildlife conservation easement with the opportunity to see deer, elk, coyotes, hawks, owls, etc. There are 5 beds, but can sleep 9 people since 4 beds are double or queen beds. There is also plenty of floor space for sleeping bags if you bring your own. Inside is a full kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, electric glass top stove, microwave, dishwasher, and center island. Cupboards have cookware, dishes, and eating utensils for 9+ people. In addition to the kitchen, the ground floor has 2 bedrooms (a queen bed in one and a double bed in the other); a full bathroom with tub/shower; a laundry room with washer and dryer; and a living room with sectional couch, and TV/DVD player for playing movies. The upstairs has an open floor plan, with a double bed and a queen bed at opposite sides of the house, a single bed, an office nook with a desk and printer, a bathroom with sink and toilet, and a front balcony with 2 rocking chairs. The Willow Haus has front and rear decks for enjoying the fresh air. The rear creek-side deck has a propane barbecue and picnic table, and 2 rocking chairs. The house adjoins 1/2 mile of stream for great native cutthroat trout fishing. Of course you should have a Montana fishing license. Willow Creek flows into Rock Creek 2.2 miles away, which is the world famous blue-ribbon trout fishing stream. Please bring your own fishing gear. During the Summer, sightseeing, fishing and hiking are popular. There are many great hikes and lakes in the Anaconda-Pintler mountains within less than an hour's drive from the property. Philipsburg (only 15 minutes away) has a bank, grocery store, hardware store, gas station, bars, churches, restaurants, a micro-brewery, and the Sapphire Gallery and Sweet Palace. You could enjoy an afternoon screening for sapphires at the Sapphire Gallery or indulge your sweet tooth with homemade fudge or a "bear claw" at the Sweet Palace. There is a good mexican food restaurant on the same block as the Sweet Palace. Having homemade ice cream from the Creamery in Philipsburg is a must! In the Fall, big game hunters frequent the area and our property could be used as a base camp. Usually after the main hunting season (ha!), herds of deer and elk enjoying the fresh air.
