Having reserved two rooms online via the Choice reservation system we arrived about 1 hour after start of check-in time. A man (Ivan) walked in as in a rush, went to a booking station, seemed to bring up the computer, and called me to be served. I gave him my name and the fact that I had reservations for two rooms. Then we had to wait for them to make certain the second room was ready. In the process of booking me in Ivan wanted to make a copy of my driver's license and for security reasons I refused offering to show ID NOT to be photocopied. He spoke with the manager and began processing my check-in initially doing only one room. After getting the second room added I noted what appeared to be a high price. I brought my confirmation from Choice Hotels up on my phone and saw that Ivan was charging about $21.00 per room more than what I had confirmation for. At this point the manager, Carol K, came over and told him how to correctly charge our rooms. After getting a printed correction for my records (and protection) my wife and our guest went to the rooms while I parked the vehicle. Upon entering our room, Carol K. was present in the room removing a tray of water from the refrigerator, apparently from having defrosted. She was apologetic and made sure the water issue was resolved and cleaned up. After this we had a pleasant stay with a comfortable night's sleep. Our complimentary breakfast was adequate and the checking out process cordially friendly.
