The Hampton Inn Grand Island hotel in Nebraska is located north of I-80 off Hwy. 281 on Diers Avenue. It was opened in January 2006. The Hampton Inn Grand Island hotel is centrally located near businesses in Grand Island and the Conestoga Mall which is minutes away. For dining there are tremendous restaurants: Whiskey Creek Steakhouse, Nonna's Italian Restaurant, The Chicken Coop, Farmers Daughter and many more. For the explorers the Stuhr Museum is only three miles south. There are also numerous activities in the Grand Island surrounding area.
There are three room types to choose from: two queen beds, one king bed or our beautiful whirlpool suites with either a king or two queen beds. Each room is beautifully designed with tranquility beds, 27 inch TV, a work or writing desk and each room has wired as well as wireless internet access.

The evening front desk employees were wonderful. That's where the good ends. It's an old property that has not been kept up on, and with a pool that's permanently closed. It's extremely overpriced for the condition of the property. The worst part was the morning front desk employee. My daughter was looking for us in the breakfast area where she thought we were. This woman called out to my daughter and LIED and said "They're over here!" so my daughter walked back to the front desk expecting to see us. The woman then LAUGHED AT MY DAUGHTER once my daughter realized we weren't there. Shockingly horrible from a person who supposedly is in hospitality. Not even remotely funny and actually quite cruel. Then to make matters worse I had to go ask the same woman about something one of the night employees told me and was cut off mid sentence with a "NO THAT IS NOT HAPPENING." Instead of just telling me "I'm sorry but that employee gave the wrong info" or similar, she got aggressive and rude. I don't work here, how am I supposed to know the "rules" ? This place is transitioning over to a Spark which is the lowest of the low brands in the Hilton portfolio. It's clear that maintenance and decor have not been kept up on for a long time, I wonder if they gave up knowing they were going to transition to the lower brand. I'd suggest staying elsewhere. There are many much nicer looking chain and independent hotels just down the road. I wish we had stayed at one of those.

If you want Hampton Inn to ruin your wedding then consider booking them. If not, I’d run away as fast as you can. I booked a block of rooms for my August 2nd wedding back in the winter. The employee who was in charge of that assured me everything was well taken care of and set to go. Fast forward to around 2.5 months to my wedding. We had guests telling us they were told there was no block reserved under our name. I called and spoke with the employee in charge of rooms to sort this out. Granted I understand we are human and an easy mistake can be made. She called me personally to ensure I was not stressed and to tell me she taken care of it. Seems like life is perfect and this was handled? Newsflash…….it was NOT. Well my wedding is literally 30 days out and I now get another call from a guest telling me the hotel called to tell them that my fiance and I “did not complete [our] obligations” so they were canceling all of our guests rooms. EXCUSE ME????? THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF A MONTH AGO!!! Actually no this was supposed to be taken care of 4 months ago but yet it wasn’t. So I called and the employee just so happens to be gone. How convenient. Come to find out THEY HAD NO BLOCK UNDER OUR NAMES STILL. And the best part is……THEY BOOKED ANOTHER WEDDING ON OUR WEEKEND. So they were the ones to mess up and instead of owning up to their mistakes….they threw the blame on us instead. I wouldn’t even trust them to handle reservations for a cockroach at this point.

The entire hotel is dated. Wallpaper peeling throughout hotel and in our room. Toilet seat and bathtub also had peeling. Very disappointed in hotel quality for a Hampton. And customer service upon reporting our dissatisfaction was non-existent.

When we got to our room we noticed a puddle of water in the bathroom on the vanity. Turns out the room above us had a toilet leaking. They did get a repair man in to fix it, but that was a rocky start. The breakfasts were great. The beds and pillows were very comfy.
