I spent 3 nights at the Springhill Suites, Grand Forks ND this week. Marriott options in Grand Forks are limited to the Springhill Suites and a Fairfield Inn. I stayed at this Springhill Suites 6 years ago and it's exactly as I remembered. I booked a King room on a AAA rate for this stay, as it was the best rate. I consistently find AAA has the best rates - AAA is well worth the $75 annual fee for the Marriott savings alone. The room was typical Springhill with the split bathroom - not like the newer/remodeled hotels that have a typical bathroom layout with the toilet, shower and sink in the same space. I've never been a fan of the Springhill Suites brand, but I also have no complaints or negatives about this hotel and stay. The room is well sized, offering a good sized desk, clean fridge and microwave, a trundle bed couch, good sized desk, a newer 50" TV, comfortable bed and a decent shower. The hotel has a small gym with 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, some weights, cowbells, mats and rollers. Not a big gym, but still useful. It was actually well used during my stay. I don't have any photos because of that. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub that were in good condition - I made use of the gym, pool and hot tub during my stay. Breakfast was a standard offering for this brand segment and was well done. The hot plate offerings varied each morning, were well stocked/maintained and better than some lounge offerings in some full service Marriott's I've stayed at. The buffet included a juice station, a good oatmeal hot station, yogurts and such, fresh fruit, waffle station, breads and UDI's gluten free muffins. Coffee and Tea were only available during breakfast hours, but well maintained. I did not have housekeeping during my stay - I think they are on an every 3 day schedule, but I was able to get a fresh set of towels from housekeeping when I asked. My experience with all the staff was great. In talking with the front desk upon check out, I learned that the hotel was built in 2009. The hotel does not feel or look like it's 15 years old. Overall a very good stay in Grand Forks.

Wow! We are - sorry, were loyal Marriott members for many years... up until after a few wonderful stays over the years we needed customer service today for a real problem- that's where they completely dropped the ball. Our curtains were missing a clip and moved over 10" exposing the window- so zero window covering on the edge letting in sunlight when we needed the ever so trusted and expected black- out blind option of a nice hotel suite. -completely non-existent. Understandable, the newer hotel may have some broken curtain or blind issues... We have young children. Our youngest 1 & a half years of age. She needs naps during the day. She is used to blinds being drawn to avoid the sunlight during the day. Minor issue sort of, but here is where the stay went from fantastic to absolutely awful ! Aweful! Yes... after years of staying at Marriott's. This is Sprimg Suites by Marriott. GF, ND. not all Marriotts .. Briefly: I told them I am an installer of drapery for a global company that installs drapery for major hotel chains worldwide-which I am. It is New Years Day, after I offered to fix it for them they said they can't allow that. Ok, I asked for a resolution today as our little one needs her rest. I was told no manager was available being New Year's Day. I said I needed a fix today. A few minutes later the manager came to the desk and said "what seems to be the problem?" After explaining our concern he ( maybe 40, normal looking guy, there most days, was there New Year's Day) said "this is what all the rooms are like" " I have not had a complaint like this in 13 years" he also said. In other words "live with it"! We were told to go to another hotel and we won't be charged for the following night. Huh?? ... I'll spare you all the details but I will conclude that we- children and all at bedtime happily moved over to Holliday Inn - though we paid already for the second night, with a police escort. We will never stay at this Springfield suites thing again in Grand Forks. Currently we will be seeking our trusted legal counsel for the mistreatment our family received at Springfield Suites By Marriott Grand Forks, ND. Nice rooms but be warned- if you are looking for a problem to be fixed or expect good customer service- NOT HERE! I strongly recommend against this establishment. I'm thinking the management is simply overwhelmed with the problems here and needs new management. ... and I am being kind.

We stayed here for one evening while visiting friends and to see the area. The hotel is very clean and in excellent condition. It looks as if the hotel is almost new or had a recent renovation. Staff was very nice. Springhill Suites is becoming one of favorite budget friendly brands by Marriott.

The staff were excellent and pool area was clean. We had a very enjoyable time at the hotel. The coffee was good and the breakfast was filling. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were for the most part clean. Four stars because the shower did have random hairs on it that were not ours but that will happen. Overall we would come back and felt relaxed and slept well. The TV doesn’t really swivel well towards the beds but there is a couch to watch TV if you want.

This hotel is stellar. Although I’ve stayed here many times before, weren’t able to stay at the last minute due to a positive covid test. The staff person assisting me to cancel was super nice and welcomed us back any time. It’s clean, best beds ever, everything is modern and smells fresh. Only place we stay in GF.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the hotel! The entire hotel (lobby, pool, patio, rooms) is absolutely spotless! This has to be one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient, it’s only 10 minutes or so from downtown Grand Forks and the college. This IS the place to stay in Grand Forks!!

My 3 yo daughter and I arrived at Springhill Suites GF on May 27, 2022. I’ve stayed at this hotel before and generally prefer the clean spaces of Marriott. Our room was on the 3rd floor and although clean, in need of some serious upgrades. The carpet was stained red in one spot and pink in another. These were very large stains to the point of the carpet needing to be replaced. We stayed in room 326. The gentleman helping us at check-in was very kind and moved us away from the elevator so it wouldn’t be noisy. Room is spacious enough for a family. I let the gentleman know checking us in that I was going to book another night. I asked for our same room. He said this was no problem and they weren’t full on Saturday May 28th. He mentioned he would make a note on my account. The next day at 1 pm I received a knock on the door. Housekeeping was asking when I was leaving. I said, “Five minutes.” After I closed the door it dawned on me that they may not know I was staying another night. I went back outside and let them know I wasn’t checking out and that I was staying another night. I saw one of the housekeepers texting someone as I opened the door. Not even one minute later I received a call, “Hi um when are you leaving since checkout was at noon and it’s been ne pm now?” The most rude, condescending tone ever. No greeting, “Hi Mrs. McLain, how was your stay?” I let him know I spoke with Dylan? The day before and let him know I was booking another night and to check their bookings and notes. He mumbled something and hung up. It was a less than ideal situation. I’m sure the gentleman on the phone has some pent up anger issues but please leave them at home and don’t take them out on customers. Thanks for reading. Don’t mean to Karen on Marriott but also deserve some kindness and grace when that’s all I treated your staff with during my stay.
