Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa

Fantastic, beautiful place to stay. Extremely helpful staff, who couldn’t do enough for us throughout our stay. Would highly recommend this resort.

Just back from a truly fantastic family holiday at Cannonier. Even before the holiday began, we were impressed with Beachcomber who sent a great little wallet with all our travel docs advice and local information - made for a great start.! On arrival at the (very pretty thatched) hotel, we were tired from the long flight but were offered a refreshing cold drink at check in. The check in itself was very fast and painless. We were taken to our family room which was bright, spacious, and had a lovely terrace to sit on for a few drinks. Only fault was that there was no sea view, but there was a garden and it was very quiet which made up for it! The restaurants offered a wide variety of options and the 'theme' nights at the Frangipanier buffet made for a different culinary experience each day. Navigator and Serenata were also great (I highly recommend the Tagliatelle with meatballs at Serenata) - The bar sandwiches were fantastic, and don't forget you can get a picnic hamper from the buffet if you're planning an excursion. The children also made frequent and abundant use of the afternoon pancakes! The bar was central to the resort and made for a great central hub. Service was excellent (more of that later) and there's a wide variety of cocktails available. We indulged heavily! We chose to go 'All Inclusive' and unlike many resorts the Beachcomber AI is great - virtually everything is included, and only a supplement required for a very limited number of food and drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed the mini golf course, apart from my son who was forced to suffer regular defeat at the hands of his father (and mother)! Probably the best part of Cannonier is the people. Overall they bent over backwards to make our holiday special. If you try to help them in any way (such as taking an empty glass to the bar), you are told that 'you are on holiday and that they are there to do the work'! Almost everyone was fantastic, but I would like to take the opportunity to highlight a few staff members who stood out from a very impressive team. These people are: Emmanuel at Planteur who was simply fantastic and fun. Reaz at Planteur who was also amazing and our sore heads thank him a lot..! Veer was also brilliant. Anne Marie on the reception team went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible and particularly the last day, which us usually depressing!. The driver of the glass bottomed boat (I forgot his name) made for a great trip, particularly by working hard to find a turtle. (He found two huge ones!) Finally, and by no means least was Adil on the waiting team. Always there with a smile, a drink, and a meal recommendation. Apart from the above, we would like to also thank ALL the Cannonier staff for an unforgettable stay, and we will definitely be recommending the hotel, and Beachcomber to our friends and family and we look forward to returning - Thank you all.

A very nice hotel with good facilities and location for the north of the island. There is a distinct bias towards French guests and a “manyana” approach to service but staff (especially Elody Sharon Angela Anna) were very helpful and there is a good variety of food. Mauturco guide Vikash was brilliant on the South tour.

Our holiday and elopement wedding at Canonnier Beachcomber in Mauritius was everything I could have dreamed of, and MORE!! The holiday with our family was amazing, and the resort itself was absolutely perfect. The food was delicious, the property immaculate, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Massive thanks to every staff member for making the resort a safe, clean, and enjoyable space. Canonnier has definitely become my new favourite! As for the wedding, I honestly don’t know how to thank Prithvi, our assigned wedding planner, enough. I was one of those brides who had zero to no plans, and yet somehow I wasn’t stressed which made his job even more challenging. But he handled everything effortlessly and literally exceeded all my expectations. Every detail was flawless, and the day was truly perfect. Highly recommend!
