The overall design of the hotel is very French, and the service staff is very enthusiastic. There is a free 10-minute shoulder and neck massage when staying in the hotel, and the boathouse also provides free items for guests staying in the hotel. schönes Hotel, mit einer schönen Anlage. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß und schön eingerichtet. Das Frühstück hat eine gute Auswahl. Die Lage ist grundsätzlich gut, die Stadt ist in Laufnähe. Der Strand direkt vor dem Hotel ist jedoch eher klein und mehr ein Hafen. Für größere und saubere Strände muss man etwas raus fahren.

Im großen und ganzen hatten wir im Veranda Grand Baie Hotel einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt!! Die Anlage wirkte sehr gepflegt und die Verpflegung war reichhaltig und schmackhaft 👍. Ein großer Vorteil für meinen Tauchbuddy und mich war die kurze Distanz zu unserer Tauchbasis EMPERATOR, die ich an dieser Stelle unbedingt weiter empfehlen möchte 👍. Zwei gravierend negative Erfahrungen zum Hotel muss ich allerdings anführen. Obwohl mein Tauchbuddy und ich zu absolut den gleichen Konditionen gebucht hatten, bestand in der Größe und Ausstattung unserer Apartments ein Himmel weiter Unterschied ☝. Während mein Kumpel einen regelrechten Palast mit komfortabler Küche bewohnte, musste ich eher mit einem kleinen "Räumchen" vorlieb nehmen 😫, was aus meiner Sicht absolut inakzeptabel ist/war 👎. Ein weiteres, schwerwiegendes Manko war die extreme nächtliche Ruhestörung an den Wochenenden durch diverse Autoposer, die mit aufheulenden Motor und unbeschreiblich laut dröhnender Musik 🎶 die Straße vor der Hotel-Anlage auf und ab fuhren 😡👎. Ansonsten gab es aber kaum etwas zu meckern und ich kann an dieser Stelle das Veranda Grand Baie Hotel gern weiter empfehlen (aber unbedingt "all inklusive" mitbuchen, sonst wird's teuer 😊☝)

The check in procedure at the Veranda Grand Baie Hotel was efficient and we felt very welcomed to this charming establishment. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and this seemed the perfect place for it. We were exhausted after our journey and after a brief exploration of our immediate vicinity, retired to our room. We had booked an apartment, which was spacious, and had the added advantage of a kitchenette. At 11.30pm we were woken up by painful bites and intense itching. We checked on the bed and were horrified to see many insects crawling on the sheets . We immediately contacted the duty manager, who noted the same. There was no option, but to relocate to another room. The next 2 rooms we viewed were filthy, with hair , dirt and dust on the bedding. It was past midnight and we were exhausted, had incessant itching and were frustrated. They changed the bedding in the third room and our luggage was moved in. The next morning, we were introduced to the operational manager, Mr Ludovic. He was a very polite and respectful gentleman. He apologised for the distress that we were exposed to. He also stated that we will not be charged for the initial night stay and for the upgrade to the replacement room. This was supposed to be a dream celebration for us, but had commenced with a nightmare. This was my 10th visit to Mauritius, and this stay was disappointing.
