Just got back yesterday we stayed at the la pitas bungalow with a lovely garden when arrived I was a bit worried about the posts about the hill it’s nothing to worry about 3 minutes walk, we went all inclusive food was really nice loads of staff all friendly very safe for children, Frankie’s bar opposite main building really good we went to the square for a few meals not as nice as hotel food , drinks really strong in hotel , would recommend a week no longer

Not sure why whinney people moaned about this place. Well i asked the travel agent for a quiet break. This was perfect. 15 mins transfer. Nice place only a few bars. Enough area to walk around every day. Hotel seemed nice & clean. We had a Nice kitchenette although we were half board. Appt was last up a hill so not many people passing. Very small village , 4 pools Stoney beach.,Very quiet , Food quite good. Its buffet . Drinks were reasonable. Large beer & wine €7.50. 3 supermarkets. Food reasonable. No stags & hens. Mainly young families pre school & mid to older couples. Only a few tat shops. Food in restaurants other than hotel were reasonable. Beds are a bit basic , but we slept ok. Shower head rubbish but hey i held it & we got by. We didnt do any trips as we have done them all before. Good weather 22/24c . Went dark @ 7 pm Only downside was we got there late had dinner & a few drinks then had to haul cases up a hill in the dark with a bad map. We were in las pitas, path & steps to left easier than hill on the right.

Nice hotel, i liked everything. It is in a little village,, a little strange with restaurants and market. The sea is just near the seimming pool and there is a little beach. There is a good path well maintained along the sea to relax yourself walking. Just relax at the swimming pool and enjoy the dinner or breakfast, both of those very nice. The little flat was clean, nothing to complain. Definitely you need a car if you want to visit the island, not far from the airport.

This is a really odd reciew to write as i have as many positives as i do complaints. I will start with the bad and then move to the good. - it isn't made clear that Las Pitas is so far away from the main pool/complex area or that the only way to reach it is up multiple flights of steep steps or via a very very steep hill. If there was just 2 adults in good health it would be fine but if you have small children, a pram, a wheel chair or similar or you can't walk a good 100-150m up a very steep incline this accommodation isn't for you. We arrived in the dark with 3 suitcases, 3 hand luggage a pushchair and very grumpy 2 year old. Was given a map and sent us to get on with it. We had to drag all the cases and the pram to the very top of the steep hill where we got lost and their own security guards couldn't agree where the room was. We eventually got to the room, which was the furthest away building and on the 1st floor (again great fun in the dark with the pram and 2 Yr old and all the cases. I checked on the tui website and there were multiple rooms I could have booked for arrival.the following day so went to Reception and asked if we could change rooms to the main hotel where it said online they had rooms and I could have booked one there and then. I asked to move offering to pay the difference between the cost of existing room and the room we would move to. I was told there was no rooms and we couldn't move - very poor customer service given there were rooms available. Resigning ourselves to the trek each day we got on with our holiday. I just feel that in the info about the hotel it should be made really clear about access/distance and thr hill. If it did I would have booked in the main hotel to begin with knowing our needs. His was supposed to be a 4* property it wasn't, I've stayed in better 2/3* properties. Everything was worn/in need or updating and the air con was in the living room area not the bedroom where you tend to need it most. Room and location aside things got much better. Baby Club and their staff are amazing. Our daughter loved going and really enjoyed it. She came home at the end of the 2 weeks with a folder of art work and they sent us photos and videos of her activities by email so we could see what they were doing. Couldn't praise then highly enough. Food and drinks are good (we didn't drink spirit so can't comment on those) but the sangria, Rose wine, larger and soft drinks were all great and easily accessible for the all inclusive. Food in the main restaurant was good in terms of choice but like most AI buffets could be warmer at times. Lunch in the bar area next to the pool is good, snacks burgers, nachos, hot dogs, chips and snack and some days they do chinese. It's always hot. We ate at The Taverna as part of the AI and that was a really nice meal from a set menu. We also ate a few times at El Sultan which was great food each time. We ate breakfast there once and had 2 or 3 evening meals there ov

Grupotel Las Pitas, great villa in outstanding surroundings, which is inconjuction with the Hotel Orquedia. This hotel was taken over by Tui after we booked the holiday and before we arrived. So you can tell everything within reason was all pointed towards Tui guests. In saying that, however, that never stopped us having a great holiday. Staff could not be more helpful than they were sometimes language was a problem. I can't fault this place at all. When booking it after reading reviews, it was a bit daunting if that is the correct word for it. We read the location of the hotel where the hotel was near shops and restaurants. That was true, there were four restaurants and about three shops, two of which were hippodyno. One restaurant advertised that they serve breakfasts, except they do not open till 2pm. Not great advertising on their part. In all, we had a great time and possibly would go again but this time staying in the hotel and not villas

Currently still here, (looking for flights to go home early) this hotel is not what is advertised as 4*, when we arrived we was given a sketched map, which was terrible, rooms are basic, with no air conditioning in the bed room, just in the living area, food is repetitive, especially the snack bar (burger and chips virtually everyday) kids meal at night as been the same every night we have been here (pasta bows, tomato sauce, squid rings, chips, carrots) the dining area is far to small for the number of guests, tables to close together banging into another person when moving your chair, was told ample sun lounges, this is far from the truth, grown men running to get loungers at 8am in a morning, if you have children the pool area is a total H+S issue, no anti slip tiles children slipping everywhere, the entertainment area is in side, again not big enough for the number of guests, we have given up queuing for a drink as it takes far to long, and no tables to sit at. Overall this is far from 4* TUI blue, we certainly won’t be coming back, and certainly won’t be going with TUI again.

Overall good facilities & apartment gave us useful extra space with kitchenette & patio. But the hotel could help manage crowds better particularly as 4 types of hotel/apartment guests using one main hotel area for food/drink/pool etc. Part of our reasons for picking resort was the children's section of the buffet but this needs to be bigger so it is easier to get round & better choice of food. When even one family is stood at the small bar it means no one else can get access. When a theme evening was held, children lost areas such as the pizza section which is probably the most popular. Why not make one side of buffet the theme and the other side 'normal' easier choices like pizza and pasta? Thought needs to be given to a better system round the main buffet too, perhaps one way, so not people moving in all directions & cutting in whilst waiting your turn. The chairs don't fit under table so can't fully push under & limits space to move round. Limited outside seating to have a drink & only small bar near reception which soon gets overwhelmed & creates bottlenecks people queuing, those moving around hotel, those trying to get to seating etc. Mentioned in welcome talk to take towels off loungers so people couldn't reserve but not enforced, got a pic of lifeguard standing in front of line of empty loungers with towels on! Raised with Tui rep who said no staff work early to police loungers, well get someone to start at 7am then & put more signs up by loungers! I appreciate this happens at most resorts but it needs to be tackled, we couldn't fully relax as had to get up early each day, rush our breakfast & see what was left to get, shaded areas in particular is a problem to find. Even at 8.30/9am most loungers disappeared. Lifeguard could help create space to play in pool, sometimes certain groups took over with ball games or floats & left no room for others. The flooring around pool got very slippy. More explanation about access to beach is needed, don't walk straight off hotel on to it as appears from resort info & not exclusive to hotel, pay for loungers etc which we only found out when read through app. Only knew of TUI blue app from welcome talk next day after arrival - need quick info sheet when arrive of where you find info like daily planner of activities and opening times etc. No help when arriving late in getting dinner, we rushed to drop bags off & then tackled chaotic busy buffet before it closedm Excursions - treasures of gran canaria not explained split in to separate mini buses & trying to listen to walkie talkie with tour guide in other van & got behind as one of our passengers unwell. Not kept informed of itinerary & what was planned. For the volume of guests at this resort there needs to be better planning and layout of spaces and rules enforced to create a fairer, more relaxed experience. We were grateful to have the apartment to escape the madness at the main hotel.
