My dad has been coming here for about 2 decades & recently my family has as well. One thing I have to say is they are always consistent. Even through covid, their service did not seem to suffer. The rooms are always clean. The kitchens are stocked with utensil and the necessary cooking necessities, which we use since we prefer to cook at the room most nights that we stay. The updated buildings are a nice addition we were pleased to have this year. We have a king bedroom with private bath, a room with twin beds & bathroom connected that also is connected to living room the living room also has a Murphy bed, kitchen, fireplace, and a balcony. It’s roomy enough that our friends staying next door we’re able to come over and we could all hang out together in one room. When calling the front desk for more towels, dishwasher tabs, etc, everyone is very kind & the needs are met quickly. The building are all very clean and kept neat, which is more than I can say for some resorts I’ve stayed at. The arcade seems a bit outdated , but honestly, no one minds it, especially the kids because the games all still work and it’s just fun to be doing something together. The indoor pool and newer locker rooms are great as well as the outdoor hot tub , especially when it’s snowing! That’s pretty awesome experience. Overall, perfect for what we want for our ski trips & we look forward to returning every time we book. Also, forgot to say, the location is amazing. 3 minute ride to Loon Mountain. It’s not been too bad since we get there early enough to not have to park too far, but with the lack of shuttle during this trip & last trip it kinda stinks. Hopefully that’s fixed soon for the time periods we come up (Jan/early Feb)! Those shuttles were amazing but seem to have been messed up from covid.

Pros: Extremely clean shower, super comfortable bed. Cons: property looks dated, room was meh, breakfast was okay on day #1 but was much more sparse on day #2, lamps were missing bulbs, the walkways were really uneven, the hot tub didn’t have jets but just had weird air bubbling. The specific king room I booked was rated 9.5/10 and supposedly had Mountain View’s, but you were actually looking at a hill across the road. All that said, the bed was really soft and the shower was super clean, so there was that!

A wonderful stay! Clean, great location, helpful staff, beautiful lobby, nice continental breakfast. I completely disagree with the negative reviews, finding them overly nit-picky and hyper critical. This is a perfect stay for a visit to beautiful northern New Hampshire. Having traveled extensively, I recommend this hotel without reservation. Bravo!

Beautiful architecture and a charming Inn. It has a very long and interesting history! If you’re looking to stay in an authentic historical Inn this is it. They have struck a great balance with preserving the historical property and still offering modern touches here and there where it counts. Loved wandering around and finding interesting little sitting areas, ancient door hardware and charming porches. You cannot get better than the location right in downtown and walk to all your meals and nice shops on both the main area and backside mill shops. Nice covered bridge and park along the river right out back and they offer free parking just for guests. Staff was friendly and the Inn was nice and quiet; I got great sleep. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Whenever I come to town for my outdoor fun I will stay here. I could feel the history from the decor, creaky wooden floors and antique furniture. It’s a special place for those that enjoy historical properties; you’ll love it.

Excellent
GGuest UserBooked a suite at the Hotel for our anniversary, and when we checked in, the clerk upgraded us. Our room was massive, bigger than the first floor in our home. Very modern, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is the size of my kitchen! Massive bedroom has its own AC and TV and the walls are so insulated, you couldn't hear anything going on in the spacious kitchen/living area. The only downside was the breakfast, powdered eggs, salty, sausage product, and a rubber omelet. Bagels and toast was good, but check the cream cheese before you use it...I got a bad one. Plenty of good restaurants nearby to get a good breakfast at.
First I want to state the entire staff were extremely helpful, polite and pleasant. My issues relate mostly to the hotel's business model of over-charging and skimping. I'm sure many readers will consider $300.00 per night not excessive. But a $20 plus dollar per plate breakfast buffet was another inflated cost. A cost we decided not to incur and instead went in to town for a superior meal at a much more reasonable price. The coffee pods in our room were not restocked during our stay. I was also disappointed to be given a queen sized accommodation when the reservation was for a king sized bed. Guests are only allowed to consume drinks in the bar area, which becomes tiresome when the bar is full and rather loud. We would have preferred to carry the drinks to our quiet room. The accommodations were clean. As I said, the staff was great. But I feel Hilton is acting overly reliant upon its patrons to beef up profits and share price.
My husband and I had a one night getaway at the Wayside Inn, and we loved it! Upon arrival, we decided we preferred to move from the annex to the main Inn, and the Mother of the innkeeper Sarah cheerfully made the switch for us! Our room was spacious, quaint, and I loved the decorations and hardwood floors! We even had a jacuzzi tub in the spacious bathroom! The room was spotless, so clean and inviting! I loved hearing the river out our windows and the birds in the morning! A delicious breakfast was included, and I appreciated the early start at 7:30 so we could get out on our bicycles. The innkeeper Sarah has obviously done so much work to this historic property. I am sure it has not been easy, especially with a young family. Sarah is amazing! I look forward to staying again to see further improvements she has made! Thank you for the wonderful overnight!
GGuest UserWe were going to Dartmouth College, so the location was great as there is only a 8 minute drive there. There is a supermarket right next to the hotel, which is very convenient and there is a Starbucks within the hotel.
There is a great seafood restaurant Jesse only 2 minute drive away and Salem and Hanover offer many dining choices.
I used the gym and everything was perfect.
YYANThe hotel is conveniently located in the town of WEST LEBANON, surrounded by supermarkets, gas stations, restaurants, etc. The hotel is located on a small hillside and is relatively quiet.
The hotel is small and the equipment is relatively old, but the service is good.
The free breakfast is not ideal, but you can make it up and it's convenient and fast.
The last night because the bath water was not hot, the waiter suggested to help me change a room. I said no trouble, and then they apologized and gave me a key to another room, saying that you can go to SHOWER over there.
GGuest UserThe room itself was very nice. Shower and wifi fine. Beautiful lobby. Location--takes a little effort to find, but pretty convenient once you know where it is. That's the good news. Staff OK, but especially at the front desk there's a very unwelcoming vibe. Breakfasts very good, but needing a ”breakfast ticket” which had to be replaced every day has got to be one of the stupidest ideas in history. My room was literally 150 yards from the elevator, and I had to climb stairs to get to it. (I'm in my mid-60s, and I had a fair amount of heavy luggage.) You need a guide dog and a map to find the one ice machine. The advertised bar/restaurant (one of the reasons I chose this location) doesn't seem to exist. No maid service mid-stay. The hotel blames COVID (yeah, right,,,), and promises to replace towels and toiletries and to empty waste baskets if you leave them outside the door... a promise partially but not completely fulfilled. And of course no refills for the coffee-maker. The real problem seems to be that they don't pay their staff well at all, meaning they're understaffed. 2 1/2 stars/
Our room was very clean and the heat was put on for us before we arrived so it was cozy. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were very clean. Looks like they've recently replaced the carpeting too (we come here at least once a year). Highly recommend!
DDream62753456749Great location to see the leaves in New Hampshire . Staff friendly and rooms clean and spacious. Close to ski areas and attractions. First weekend in October an excellent time to see the leaf color. We always try to stay at a Best Western, always easy to book a room.
This motel was horrible. For $200 you get to walk up icy stairs that one foot can not entirely fit on. We stayed one night - King Bed - 2 adults one toddler. The room itself was big enough for us. And the floors and surfaces were cleaned. Bathroom as well was clean. The bed also was comfortable but the problem was everything else. The door has a lock and chain. Once you push down on the door handle it opens the door even though it’s locked. So my toddler was literally going over pushing down the handle and trying to leave our room which of course we are standing right there so he never had the chance but even with the chain he was able to easily get thru the WIDE open space. The door doesn’t have a peep hole. I couldn’t get a door stopper to jimmy under door cause there is no space. When we got to the room the fridge was not plugged in. We put all our things in it including the milk for our toddler for the morning. Woke up in the morning and everything in the fridge is completely FROZEN SOLID! I was trying to make coffee and they gave us ONE Normal coffee pack. Two adults. But gives us ONE! So I go to make a coffee and the entire pot is leaking everywhere. Doesn’t even fill to full and made a mess everywhere. Also we noticed the frame cover on the bed was full of stains. The towels they gave us two. That’s it. It barely would go around my leg let alone my body and it was full of stains. In addition to all of this we wanted to use our Amazon stick as we have done so in many other establishments but unfortunately the tv outlet only had space for the tv & and it’s internet box so neither could be unplugged to use the stick. Just a heads up to those family’s perhaps bringing a 2 outlet prong to plug in since it’s on the wall above tv. I’m glad we brought a nightlight because if the hair dryer was suppose to light up it didn’t in the night. Overall super disappointed paying $200 for a bed to sleep on with ZERO amenities in the winter. There is no breakfast even though there is a breakfast room. 🙄 And if anyone parks their trailer in the straight parking spots and you’re in the ones in front. Good luck trying to back out and get out. And if anyone shows up later to get in their room you will hear absolutely every single foot step and bang and doors closing - up half the night just listening to people getting into rooms late.
Lljq319I expected very little and that is what we got. Room is dated but I expected that. What bothered me was lamp did not work, the lights fixtures each had only one working bulb. That tells me the owner is either very cheap or there is no attention to upkeep. The pool is listed as heated, but 70* doesn't cut it. Lastly their WiFi is a 2g network. At least the room was clean. One and done here
