What a lovely place! Beautiful old building, pretty garden and excellent food. The rooms are decorated really nice and the beds and linen are excellent quality. Plus super friendly welcoming staff - a great place to stay!

We held a family get-together on 18th May after my Daughter's Christening, for drinks and nibbles. We were greeted by Lizzie and the team and they had decorated the room with our balloons and bunting. It looked beautiful! The food was fantastic and all of my family commented on how good it was. It was the perfect amount of food. We were looked after so well, nothing was too much for the team. Thank you so much for having us! We had the best afternoon at the Star & Eagle! Can't recommend enough!! All the best, Grace x

My stay at The Star and Eagle was truly exceptional! The staff’s wholesome, caring service made me feel right at home, delivering heartfelt hospitality that went above and beyond. The hotel room was spotlessly clean with a fantastic view, and the pillows were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a perfect night’s sleep. The continental breakfast was a highlight, fresh ham, vibrant fruits, and delicious pastries that tasted homemade. I also opted for the full breakfast (referred to locally as "the break"), and it was fantastic, bursting with flavor and quality. The cozy pub atmosphere, welcoming to families and children, reflects true British charm. It’s heartwarming to see such a place thriving, and I highly recommend The Star and Eagle for its impeccable rooms, outstanding breakfast, and warm, genuine service. I can’t wait to return!

Lovely people, rooms, food and beer. Charming old English village and beautiful surrounding area. We've been here many, many times and that's because Scott, Lizzie and the others continue to make our stays so enjoyable. It's really difficult to find fault which is why I find it odd that other reviewers have managed to do so. Maybe it's just because we've just been very lucky but I doubt it somehow. It's not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and there are many more expensive places supplying less. Highly recommended.

The Star & Eagle is a wonderful place to stay, we received 'First Class' service and food. Scott, Lizzie and their fabulous team are amazing, from arrival to departure we had the most amazing stay. Part of the weekend celebrations were held in the Eight bells adjoining the Hotel which is perfect for a private party. The hotel comprises a fabulous private dining room which was decorated beautifully for the celebratory lunch on the Sunday. I would highly recommend this place it's exceptional, I can't wait to return.

The Star and Eagle hosted my 60th Birthday Party. We all had an amazing time. The food was exceptional and the service was very attentive. My friends and family stayed in the hotel and I have received many thanks from them all for a wonderful weekend. I would highly recommend choosing the Star and Eagle for a party venue, food and accommodation.

We stayed here due to going to a friends party locally. Room was a nice size and comfortable. The bed also and so warm. Was able to turn radiator on and off temperature wise. We had a family room which had a shared bathroom but had it for ourselves as there was no one staying in the other one so was fine. The hotel has a lot of history and character (although felt I could get lost with all the doors and corridors!). Staff were very friendly and attentive. Really cosy warm feel in the bar area. We ordered food before we left which was lovely (not big plates as would be eating later) and was a little disappointed the size of mine (Brie) but was still nice. The breakfast was one of our favourites we have had. Full English. All freshly cooked and on a hot plate. Fresh coffee and orange juice. Really lovely place and will definitely return. Thank you!

The Star and Eagle in Goudhurst offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed drink. The staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful, ensuring a pleasant visit. Whilst we didn’t sample the food, the ambiance alone makes it a great spot to unwind. Highly recommended for a casual outing or a drink with friends!
