The Austrian lake region has been occupied by the Chinese. Gosau is not far from Hallstatt and St. Wolfgang. I thought it would be deserted, but I didn't expect that all the people walking on the roadside were my compatriots. The hotel is equivalent to a large B&B, facing the beautiful snow-capped mountains, and there is a non-powered playground for children, with a zipline that is very fun. Because there are no businesses nearby, most reservations include dinner, a simple three-course meal with fish and chicken to choose from. I suggest the chicken one as it is more in line with Chinese tastes, but the spinach served with it is too salty. Sparkling water, drinks and beer are all free. The room is clean and has simple facilities. You need to bring your own slippers. For a family of three, it is recommended to book a family suite with four beds. The old man at the front desk is a very friendly guy.

Erni, the front desk owner, helped us upgrade our room type. He was super nice! The room decoration is very thoughtful, I especially like the automatically adjustable heating, and the curtains are as beautiful as a girl's gauze skirt. The steaming room adds a lot of points to the room. I like it here very much and hope to come again.

The results will then be announced to the regional media and published if necessary. We usually only post about or rate restaurants that serve good food. In this case, we are making an exception. We received a friendly welcome and were served in a friendly manner. Unfortunately, that is all the positive things we can say about the restaurant. The service staff were friendly and attentive (Eva), but obviously not adequately trained to serve in a beautiful, traditional hotel. When I made my reservation at reception a week ago, I was assured that I would be able to choose from an à la carte menu. Unfortunately, that was not the case. In this unfortunate case, you could only choose between two main courses. I remember the carrot soup as being much too thick. The surcharge for the "envelope"... sliced ​​roast beef on a bare lettuce leaf, could have been omitted. Instead, a cloth napkin instead of a mini paper napkin would probably be considered standard in a 4-star hotel. The rump steak "from the grill" that most people chose wasn't sirloin but probably a well-done roast beef, meaning it was dry. After I complained, it was taken back without any problems, and a few minutes later, a grilled steak arrived. This one, however, was so rare that it was cold in the middle, and thus also inedible. I then canceled the cheese platter... I've since lost my appetite. The waitress barely kept up with the apologies and really tried to save what was essentially beyond repair. She is definitely not to blame. That clearly lies with the management and the kitchen staff. Such things shouldn't happen in a top-class restaurant and at this price level! As an afterthought... they added the main course to the bill, but then canceled it after I intervened. That's simply unacceptable. All in all, an incredibly high bill for a meal that wasn't even worth half of it. Unfortunately, nothing will change, as Gosau is more likely to be a hotel guest, and there's no need to wow regular customers... a real waste of money!

Bis auf das Geplänkel bei der Buchung hat alles gepasst. Preis - Leistung hat hier gestimmt. Das Personal sehr freundlich, das Zimmer bestens und die Mahlzeiten einfach gut. Nach einer ausgiebigen Wanderung oder Bergtour kann man am Nachmittag zum Pool und in die Sauna gehen. Einfach entspannend. Dieses Hotel kann ich empfehlen.
