The Llawnroc Hotel

It is advertised as a hotel, but after paying upfront I received an email to say it was running as a self service guest house. Therefore no restaurant as advertised. We had stayed in the Llawnroc Hotel some years ago when it was actually a hotel, and enjoyed our stay. The quality of the rooms are good, but it is not being maintained. Obviously the owners are just renting out the rooms to get some income until it is sold. Maria seems to be doing everything when she is on site, and tries her best to oblige. The shower was temperamental and I had to ask Maria if she could help as it was only producing hot water. There was air conditioning but it didn’t work. The milk in the in room fridge was off when we went to use, and the tv kept losing it’s signal. All in all it was a disappointing stay so we only stayed one night instead of the two that we booked. I feel that the information on the Trip.com site is not correct about this venue. There was also no option to cancel the booking once I was informed that it was now a self service guest house.

REPEAT I REPEAT THIS HOTEL IS NOT OPERATIONAL AND IS THE OWNER IS RENTING OUT ROOMS IN A SEMI-ABANDONED HOTEL!!!! This is a massive Fraudulent hotel and no longer exists as per the hotel website. The owner is renting out the odd room in a Derelict hotel and trying to pass it off as a hotel and then you get told its a self-catered room once booked. AVOID AVOID AVOID as you wont get refunded!!!!

Llawnroc Hotel - peaceful & enjoyable stay A few days away for a special birthday and it was indeed special. Really well appointed room with balcony (morning suntrap) and sea view. Very friendly and helpful staff with special mention to Jo and Lisa who went out of their way to help us. Excellent breakfast. Only one disappointment was that the restaurant was closed. However would thoroughly recommend staying at this hotel and visiting the small village of Gorran Haven which has an amazing community spirit with volunteers running a local bus service or manning the fabulous coastal path cafe.

Lovely hotel Beautiful hotel in lovely setting. Friendly staff and lovely food. The only reason that I’ve given 4 stars as opposed to 5 was that my stay was affected by a hiccup that the hotel experienced, but this was dealt with quickly and professionally. Would definitely recommend a stay in this beautiful coastal setting.
