This was an absolute gem between Pokhara and Kathmandu. Wonderful view of the Himalayas, gorgeous authentic huts, and recently renovated, clean lodgings. The staff were incredibly friendly and spoke English and Nepali. Food was amazing. And the value was incredible. We stayed with 7 of us for less than $30/person food included. We will be back!

Gorkha Gaun Resort is a real gem of a place to stay in Nepal. The resort is located on a wonderful hillside near Laxmibazar, a few miles (but just a short taxi ride) from Gorkha itself, but it means you have the stunning views of the Himalayas from the resort, which you don't get in Gorkha itself. The bungalow accommodation is private, clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is freshly prepared and delicious. The staff, and owners, were so helpful with advice and taxi service etc. There is so much to do in the area; as well as walking and temple visits, we also booked a taxi to visit villages (ie Sirandanda) in the valleys behind - a beautiful drive. I would highly recommend for anyone to stay here and get away from the busy tourist centres of Nepal.

what a lovely place. a simple eco hotel and a great place to relax in beautiful surroundings. the food is good and most things fresh and locally sourced. the staff, who are all from the village, are excellent and very friendly. Deepa gave me a superb walking tour through her village and was very knowledge about the flora and fauna and the culture of her village. At breakfast the delightful Keshav Kunar joined me and was able to share his expert knowledge of local plants and their traditional medicinal uses. I shall return!

I wanted so much to rate this accommodation 5/5. The location is lovely and the staff are wonderful, in particular Jyoti who looked after us and took us on a tour of the village, Mr Keshar was delightful too. The views of the mountains are gorgeous when it is clear. Unfortunately after eating Chicken Chow Mein in the evening , and having a small sample of the Raksy millet alcohol; I became very unwell to the extent of not being able to eat breakfast . Things worsened when we reached our next destination and lasted for the rest of our holiday which was a special treat and very expensive. I think that the food was pre prepared as we were the only guests and maybe reheated. My food was not pleasant and the chicken tasted not tight and I should have said so, but as the only guests I felt unable to do this. I ate little of it as it was the worst Chow Mein I have ever had and oddly it was served with Tomato ketchup. My partner ate curry and this was fine. Because of poor food hygiene, my trip to Nepal was effectively ruined. This is totally unacceptable and this is the first time in decades of travelling around the world that this is has happened to me. I would not recommend this accommodation because of my experience and this is such a shame as I really loved the ethos of this business.

Petit hôtel à l’écart de Gorkha .Un ensemble de bungalows en pierre locale . Chambre confortable, grande et bien aménagée, belle salle de douche . Beaucoup de fleurs partout . Belle vue sur les montagne et sur l’Himalaya lorsque le ciel est dégagé ce qui n’a pas été notre cas .Un personnel extrêmement gentil, souriant et serviable . Déjeuner et dîner népalais. Bon petit déjeuner. Le château médiéval du roi se visite après avoir monter 300 marches raides , nous avons renoncé.

We can only endorse the 5* reviews, this place, to us, is paradise. The views, on a clear day, are outstanding, as is the personal service. We love the fact they employ boys & girls from the local villages, and the food comes from local produce. If you like international 5*, you won’t like GG. But if you like something different & individual, at the same want to support a local business, come here. You won’t regret it!

Property is in a great location. Fantastic hospitality. Beds are comfortable and room is cozy. Staffs are well trained and nice. Recommended place if you love to relax in peaceful environment. Also, if you love hiking, you have many options to travel around.

A wonderful stay in a peaceful place, beautifully crafted architecture referencing historical crafts. Delicious meals. Outstanding staff who go the extra mile to be helpful, well informed and friendly. Views of the hills and forests are beautiful and guided walks were wonderful. I cannot recommend Gorka Gaun highly enough. Thank you

I stayed 3 nights with my family, we thoroughly enjoyed the place . Specially the warm Hospitality of the team. Food was simple and good. Great views. Comfortable Room. A great place to get away from the hustle-bustle and enjoy some Nepali rural living also explore the rich Gorkha History. Recommended.
