Hotel Pokljuka

Helpful staff at checkin. Good breakfast selection. Rooms a bit minimal - really designed for a busy ski season as right next to the ski slopes. No air-con so left door open at night as quite hot during our visit. Liked the location though - up in the mountains away from the busy tourist centres.

I came outside of the tourist season for business education program and found this hotel as a pleasant surprise. Very kind staff, amazing food. Very clean and cozy. In a beautiful remote location in the forest. Close to lake Bled and lake Bohinj. Shittles well organised.

The hotel is on a great location and excellent for families as it has a playground inside and outside. Rooms for three persons are not particulary big but are clean and anyhow the point is not that you enjoy Pokljuka in your room. The only thing we did not like is a wierd rule regarding breakfast. We rented two rooms as we are two families with kids and the hotel did not allow us to sit together at brekfast due to some wierd rule that they have better control if each room sits at specifically dedicated table….

Large busy hostel style hotel in the middle of the forest and mountains, very friendly staff, clean and efficient. Basic dining rooms, good breakfast. Perfectly serviceable rooms, lots of hot water, balcony, very clean. Big groups of athletes/students.

We walked from Lake Bohinj to Lake Bled on the Juliana trail. (Highly recommended, but harder than we thought, at least with heavy backpacks.) It takes about two days, and in the middle you find this hotel, high up in the mountain. We had a family room, which actually was two rooms, but without a door between them. There was a large bathroom, which you for some reason could not lock. We had a nice balcony facing the yard and the trees. The dinner was ok, but it took almost 40 minutes to get the food. This is a sport hotel, and we had heard there was a gym which our son really wanted to use, but unfortunately he wasn't allowed to do that. It was only for groups. The breakfast was really good, and we paid a little extra to take a lunch pack from it. All in all a nice stay.
