Big Skies Guesthouse

We will certainly stay here again. We enjoyed everything at this beautiful Guesthouse. Delicious breakfast. Everybody friendly and helpful; like real family.

Really enjoyed my stay. Peaceful, clean and very pleasant friendly hostess. My second time staying at Big Skies and I will definitely be staying there again.

Everything was spotless, great position, great breakfast, off road parking, would recommend to all. Very competitive price. Although we did not use it, the swimming pool was clean and tidy. Lovely views from the balcony.

The location is ideal. Gordon's Bay is a nice little town, not far from Cape Town or the airport. The setting is spectacular, with mountains and sea, and the beach is protected from major waves. There are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance. The town is safe and the property secure. There is a beautiful drive along the coast towards Betty's Bay, which I highly recommend. There is a colony of African penguins there. Big Skies has a small pool, which we used in the heat of the afternoon. The breakfasts were very good, and there was a decent amount of variety. I enjoy the personal attention of guesthouses and small hotels, and Kobus and Irene were excellent hosts. Conversation at breakfast and the bar with them and other guests was enjoyable. Parking is inside the property gates and is secure.

The please is clean and peaceful. Staff are very friendly and always eager to assist. The property is close to the beach front making it easy to walk around Gordon's Bay. We also managed to visit the deck upstairs for sundowners with Barman ever so friendly and eager to serve

We had messaged our hosts stating that we had to check our of our prior accommodation by 10am and asked if it was possible to arrive early, leave our luggage so that we could sightsee. They responded asap saying yes. When we arrived at the property, we were warmly greeted and told our room was available for immediate checkin. Fantastic for us. We got a quick tour. We had a beautifully furnished room, window overlooking a cosy shaded walled courtyard with seating/tables and a Braii. Our room had a lovely bathroom, complimentary toiletries and great water pressure in the shower. Tea/coffee making facilities. Near the exit to the courtyard, there was a mini kitchen with lots of glasses/crockery, microwave and sink. We could have cooked if we wanted to but we chose to eat out in the evenings. Secure car park. Safe area. 5 minutes walk to the beach/street/shops and restaurants. The Breakfast room is upstairs with beautiful views and off of this is the bar area with an outside terrace. All very nice. Our hosts were very attentive, shared a lot of information on the local area.

Super clean and well appointed rooms. The facility is well maintained and owner managed by professional and guest orientated team. We enjoyed our stay and a generous and well prepared breakfast. Definately worth a visit for work or travel.

A quaint little place run by the owners themselves. Very friendly and helpful. A beautiful old home repurposed as a guest house. Breakfast was lovely with a beautiful view. We had a lovely sunset viewing over the Bay.

Me and my wife we had an amazing time at Big Skies. This place is well equipped with swimming pool, braai section, a Bar and Dining room for breakfast. Rooms are comfortable with aircon and own bathroom. We really had a great time. Thank you to Kobus and his wife. See you in summer 😍❤️
