2-Star Hotels in Goms

We received a very friendly welcome at the front desk. We found the rented apartment clean. She is cozy set up so that we quickly felt at home. The way to the village is a nice walk, the whole area is clean and varied.

Apartment had some very old furniture. A toaster was missing. The folding bed creaked. View from balcony was very nice as well the location.

Once we found it, the Walliser Sonne was ok. Plenty parking, ok rooms and cold beer to adjust the liquid balance of our soaked bodies (it is indeed hot to ride a motorcycle with full gear in over 30+ Centigrades weather). But we fail to understand why this hotel is listed with the wrong address on all the booking platforms, as well as on the Tripadvisor site. This hotel is not located at Spitz 26. There is no hotel at Spitz 26. Spitz 26 isn't even in the same town as this hotel. Spitz 26 is at the top of a very narrow and very steep street in the next town, and the residents of this town must be sick and tired of all the tourists arriving here, looking for Walliser Sonne. When we had circled around 10 times without finding the hotel, a local stepped out and asked if we looked for a hotel? Yes indeed we were, as he suspected. He then directed us back the way we came, to the right town, and the right street. Let it be known that Walliser Sonne is located at Jungbrunnenstrasse 80 in Gluringen, NOT Spitz 26 in Reckingen.

Spacious, simple and cozy apartment in a historical building. Well equipped kitchen. Warm and uncomplicated contact with the landlady who lives in the same house. Good starting point for cross-country skiing.

Séjour décevant et je le regrette: accueil minimal et disons ”timide”, chambre correcte, propre, literie normalement confortable. La déception est au restaurant, manque de professionnalisme : un peu de gentillesse ne suffit pas. Ex: menu mal griffonné sur un paper-board, ( il suffirait de l'écrire proprement, on n'a pas besoin de plus ) , salade verte dans une très petite assiette très plate, la vinaigrette servie à part impossible d'assaisonner sans que ça ne déborde etc, l'addition posée sans un mot sur la table après le plat principal sans proposition de dessert ni café, on peut donc comprendre ”on vous a assez vue”, et surtout UN VERRE D'EAU DU ROBINET facturé 2 F une fois, le lendemain 3F pour un petit pichet de la même eau, à ce prix mieux vaut prendre un verre de fendant!
