Staff were lovely, helpful and the service was great. However, we were late being given our room as they were behind on the cleaning. Wouldn't usually be an issue but we just needed to check-in, drop off our bags and go. Staff did try to make the room ready asap which was great. Room was ok, a little tired, needing some updating/fixing up as it was missing a toilet roll holder and the wallpaper was peeling by the window but otherwise it was nice. Some of the hallways were a little smelly for some reason, there are plug-in's to try and cover this but they didn't seem to do much. Didn't have any food so I can't comment

We attended the spa mid week and it was very quiet which was good as seating is limited. There is no seating around the pool and only 4 seats in the spa area. There is however 2 relaxation rooms and a cafe area. The relaxation room beds were not all that comfortable and you could hear all the cafe noise so not completely relaxing but ok. The facilities which included a pool (which shut at 4 as children’s lessons were on, would have been good to know) sauna steam room and a small outdoor jacuzzi type pool were all clean. The changing rooms were also clean although some of the lockers did not work but plenty available. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea was lovely. I didn’t see a water dispenser which would have been nice to help stay hydrated. The evening meal was fabulous and reasonably priced. The staff were great could not have asked for better service. The hotel room was hot and stuffy even though it was freezing outside. Our room had a small window which I kept open all night but that made it very noisy so I didn’t sleep well. The room especially the bathroom needs updating the floor looks like the bathroom at my Nan’s care home. It was however clean. We were provided with slippers and a robe to go to the spa in. In the morning room service came in before check out time whilst we were getting ready which was awkward 😐 All in all a good stay.

Fantastic staff, the best spa treatment ever and food superb… but! I love this hotel got married her and it was just the best but on a spa package I noticed a few things that seem to be not as on point, spa needs some attention, carpets filthy, lockers don’t work, pool was so cold nobody could go in, arrived early morning and went to spend time in the relaxation room only it wasn’t relaxing as there was a very noisy vacuum been used for early cleaning, the bistro area was really neglected with a huge empty display fridge and no menus or options, felt like a staff canteen, afternoon tea was lovely but surroundings are not relaxing dry few seats and recliners when busy not enough space to relax, carpets filthy, foot spa only 1 working and jets in outdoor hot tub were not working properly either. The treatment by Dora was the best I have ever had made my day, she was excellent, room we stayed in very clean but dated, evening meal was just superb but the wine was shocking “shy pig”? always had a great wine on offer not this stay something has clearly changed! The staff were lovely but I’m not sure how much more they can do to improve the stay, investment needs to be made. Desperate to see what is going to be done but I would start in the Spa and stock some wine that people can drink. Still had a brilliant stay but could have been better. To the staff a huge thank you

Cant fault the spa & hotel. Its beautiful. However working as a housekeeper was one of my worst experiences in my working career. The head housekeeper is very unprofessional and treats some of her staff appallingly. Very toxic environment to work in

Afternoon tea only review.... the afternoon tea wasn't outstanding but it was more than satisfactory. However the staff were simply awesome, soon as we walked in we were greeted, directed and wished a happy afternoon. Quickly seated and ordered drink by the most amazing waitress I've ever met, seriously gracey ann needs a huge pay rise. It was my 1st visit but I want to return just to be served by gracey. She has the right mix of making you feel welcome, relaxed, beautiful and she defo come across as if she loves her job. All the staff inc bar staff were pleasant and friendly. Send me your recruitment tips

Came here for afternoon tea with my boyfriend, and we were greeted by Gracieanne, who was a kind and attentive host, very bubbly and polite, made our experience so welcoming and comfortable :) The food was delicious and fresh, and plenty of it, we had to take some home with us because we were full up. Great experience, would highly recommend coming here for afternoon tea.
