I had an extremely disappointing experience at this hotel and would strongly advise against staying here. During checkout, I accidentally left my work phone on the bed while packing my luggage. Less than an hour after leaving, I called the hotel to report the issue. To my surprise, they claimed they had not found anything. I had also intentionally left a pair of jean shorts and some toiletries behind due to lack of space in my luggage. When I called again and mentioned this, they later informed me that they had found the shorts but not the phone—despite both being on the same bed. I asked them to check again, but the manager spoke to me as if I was mistaken. Using my personal phone, I tracked my work phone’s location and saw that it was moving from place to place. I immediately sent the hotel a screenshot of this, and only then did they take my concerns seriously. The manager later called me back, stating that they had reviewed CCTV footage and asked me to return to the hotel to discuss the matter. To minimize costs, I arranged for my taxi driver to pick up the phone on my behalf. However, I was then informed that I had to come in person, forcing me to miss my flight back to the UK. Upon arrival, I was met by a different manager who told me it was not the hotel’s fault—claiming that the cleaner had mistakenly taken the phone to the laundry. While I was relieved to have my phone returned, the entire ordeal cost me an additional €60, which could have been avoided had they simply allowed my driver to collect it. This experience raises serious concerns about the hotel’s handling of lost items, accountability, and customer service. Why was I not informed over the phone that they could have mailed my phone to me? Why was there no proper apology or compensation, given that my phone was visibly moving locations before being “found”? What actions, if any, were taken regarding the cleaner’s handling of my belongings? This was an incredibly frustrating and costly experience, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
