Before booking I called the property directly and asked if it was ok for us to bring our little one who would sleep in a travel cot. I was told this was fine as long as we brought our own travel cot as there are none kept on site. We turned up at the crown inn to be told there was a limit of 2 people per room and we couldn’t stay due to having our baby with us!! I was promised a full refund by the owner himself, so no other options were discussed. He told us this had happened before, so clearly he needs to speak to his staff about the rules. Luckily we managed to book a beautiful cottage nearby, my partner remarked how he was pleased with this as the crown inn hadn’t been what we expected, it looked really run down and the smell wasn’t pleasant. I called *********** after we left and they sent an email to the owner to verify the refund. The owner didn’t respond despite me calling to chase it up. We arrived home 3 days later still no authorisation, finally the day after we got back I called *********** and they said the owner had decided to keep nearly half the money. The service we have received is disgusting, if we had been told we would lose this amount of money we could of discussed possible other options but we were promised a FULL refund. The stress of this situation ruined my weekend, the owner is deceitful and dishonest and I would think twice before parting with your money
