The staff is not interested in guests. Almost all staff were extremely rude or simply seemed annoyed by our presence. Only the bartenders near reception and house keeping actually greeted us or smiled once in a while. One young man in the animation team was also friendly. They had forgotten to make an extra bed for my child, and they seemed annoyed with us. They had to send a member of staff to confirm in the room, that we were telling the truth before they would make any actions to fix it. This was at 12pm. Half an hour later a house keeping staff came to help us make the bed. They had prepared a paper bag for us with sandwiches. They were so dry, we had to throw them out. Great start! We also had to figure out how to get pool towels, since they had forgotten to give us the cards to get them. And when we adressed the reception, to get the towel cards, we were told, we got them at check in. They did not believe us, that we didn’t get any, until I raised my voice. Why would we lie? When we forgot a personal towel by the pool in the afternoon and asked for it at reception we were accused of trying to reserve a deck chair for the following day, and the receptionist told us off again. Very unpleasant behaviour from reception staff in general during our whole stay! There was an angry looking lady, she always smiled really wide and fake, when you were talking to her - but as soon as she thinks you are not looking, she looks angry again. No staff wears gloves when handling food - one employee was scratching a wound on his arm and afterwards handed out pizza with out washing hands or putting on gloves. When asking for a beer, I was told to take one that had been poured before I arrived, and it had been left unattended, because no one was there when I came to the bar. When I asked the girl to pour me a fresh one, she made “a face”, but did it eventually. I do not drink drinks that have been left unattended with so many people going through. At all meals the staff is so quick to take away dishes and cups, even if you are actually not finished. When sitting in reception we were told to pick up our drinks, so a staff member could clean the table. None of the waiters smile. They all look like they want to be somewhere else. It was not possible to get a late check out and they leave the luggage room unlocked. The room was “cleaned” every day - but they never cleaned the sink the whole week we were there. When we put the towels in the shower, they hanged it back up. At check out no one talked to us. We handed in the key - no goodbye or thank you from the receptionist. Very unfriendly staff in total. The food was alright, but the same every day and the room is very very loud. The music at the pool is unbearably loud at times. The day the animation team had a day off was extremely nice. The hotel is average at best. It is an average 3*. The pool was decently clean. We value hospitality highly. We felt very much not welcome and will not be returning.

Review of Hotel Madara ★★☆☆☆ (2 out of 5 stars) I recently stayed at Hotel Madara and overall, the experience was underwhelming. The food was okay — nothing to really complain about taste-wise — but unfortunately, it was exactly the same every single day. A bit of variety would go a long way. The pool area is nice and generally clean, so no complaints there. However, what really stood out (in a negative way) was the attitude of the staff. Most of them looked like they didn’t want to be there at all. Angry, tired, or just flat-out uninterested — it honestly made the atmosphere feel cold and unwelcoming. I have to ask: why hire people for hospitality roles if they don’t seem to enjoy helping guests? The only exception was the receptionist, who was actually quite friendly and helpful — a rare bright spot in an otherwise disappointing stay. This place is fine if you’re here to drink your brains out and don’t care about anything. Would I return? Probably not, unless some serious changes are made in staff morale and guest experience

Hey, I’m Sergey and I was in the hotel for 8 nights in the 20th of June and here is my honest review. The hotel was terrible. The Internet was terrible — only 3 Mbps and constantly dropping. We were given a room with a barely functioning air conditioner, and it was always stuffy. Maintenance came twice, but told us it was too hot outside and the AC couldn’t do more — even though the unit in the room next door worked perfectly. The TV didn’t work either. Tiles were falling off in the pool area, and my sister cut her foot badly because of it — there was a lot of blood. The drinks, including alcohol, were watered down. The housekeeping was poor — I had to personally go to the reception desk to ask them to remove someone else’s hair from the shower, as the drain was nearly completely clogged. The only things we really enjoyed were the food and the entertainment — billiards, table tennis, volleyball, the bartenders, and the animation programme — which were excellent for both children and adults. As a business owner, I understand how important clients interaction is. The animators approach new guests, start conversations, and ask questions — it creates the feeling that people are cared for and genuinely interesting, which is exactly what one needs on holiday. When they interact with guests, they do their best to show sincere interest; they’re only 16–17 years old, and they perform incredibly well. Each animators has their own strengths: Yasen is especially beloved by the children, Miki is better with adults, Ilko is the best DJ, and Kari is perfect in every way. Everything works excellently when each person is in their right role. But when they start swapping roles, things don’t run as smoothly — though that’s a leadership issue: ensuring everyone stays where they shine brightest. I’ve travelled across many European countries, and without a doubt, this is the worst 4‑star hotel I have ever stayed in. The only saving grace was the animators and bartenders, and also the guests staying there — it was easy to socialise with other visitors and speak English.

Hôtel de catégorie moyenne. Mais les repas sont corrects et la literie confortable. Pas de soucis pour trouver un transat. Assez loin de la plage donc, si vous n'aimez pas marcher, vaut mieux choisir un hôtel en bord de mer. Le barman du hall d'accueil est au TOP! Très sympa; Côtés négatifs : chambres pas nettoyées chaque jour (oubli?) et une équipe d'animation médiocre. 4 jeunes qui ne savent même pas vous dire bonjour quand vous les croisez. Sinon, agréable séjour sous un soleil de plomb.

Actually 4 1/2 Alexander barman brill relaxing 3 days entertainment not up to much very repetitive reception ladies were very helpful when I arrived as I’m not tech savvy helped find phone charger cable store as I packed the wrong one food excellent everything I needed for restful stay

Отдыхали в этом отеле с 01.06 по 12.06. Это уже 4-й раз. Приехали в отель в 6.30 утра, заранее договаривались о раннем размещении, в 7.30 уже были в номере (платили 40 левов за номер). Номер у нас был с видом на бассейн (номер 517). Отличный отель, небольшой и чистый. Уборка каждый день, через день меняли полотенца. Очень дружелюбный персонал. Бармен супер как и персонал ресторана. Разнообразное и качественное питание, каждый может найти себе что то по вкусу. До моря 7-10 минут пешком, что скорее плюс, зарядка после еды очень полезна. Обязательно вернемся в Мадару

I got accommodation last week, between 3 / 10 of june 2025, very good hotel, quiet, close to the forest, a little bit difficult to climb the hill - on the way back from the beach, clean room, cleaning every day, good food, enough for a holiday ( chicken, beef, fish and rabbet), Restaurant Manager always between clients - very professional, receptionist Anton with a lot of public relation experience, Alexandru bartender , brown haired from Lobby Bar, just across the reception speaks good english, polite, kindly asking apologies as long as the beer draft machine was out of service, for the price I payed, my note is 10. Congratulations for all the team.
