Motel 6 Gold Beach, or

Very basic but clean and safe to stay.

Great staff!

We didn’t know what to expect and turned out to be one of the best decisions we made while there. It was a fishing trip for us. Our plan is to return next year. We stayed across the river for much more $. Motel 6 was much quieter and comfortable. The only minus I can say is the bathroom fan was a little noisy. Nothing a good lube of moving parts wouldn’t fix. The hosts were very kind, receptive and accommodating of our needs.

Nice hotel with a very nice and secluded location on a ridge above Gold Beach. Very pleasant outdoor area with, among other things, benches, and barbecue facilities. This was a pleasant surprise and diversion from the motels that are usually right next to the main street or a freeway. We were greeted in a friendly and professional manner when we arrived, and I got a positive impression of the service. Seemed to be a well-run place. As for the rooms, this is a very standard Motel 6, as you would like to know it from countless another Motel 6. Decent level of cleanliness, although the floors could well be a little cleaner. Otherwise, there was a somewhat strange/old smell in the room we had, but it must be said that there was also a lot of smoke in Gold Beach due to wildfires not far from Port Orford. The smell in the room could be related to smoke. So, smoke from the wildfires spoiled the experience a bit, but of course this is not the hotel's fault. I would very much like to return to M6 in Gold Beach the next time I am on a road trip along the California and Oregon coasts.
