It is a lovely resort, and the scenery is nice. Unfortunately, my stay was not as pleasant as I expected it to be. I arrived at 3 AM on my first night; luckily, there was a staff to help us check-in. However, when we went inside our room, we had no hot water for the shower, and the toilet smelled really bad. It must have been an ongoing issue, as I see a scented diffuser inside the toilet. The following day, my other friends shared that they had very hot water in their rooms, and it was so hot that they had difficulties showering. To my surprise, the hot water issue was fixed in the afternoon, but the smelly toilet remained the same. We had to check out three nights earlier as the smell was unbearable. The spa has not opened, and the gym looks like it hasn't been touched for years. It's a great place if you don't expect to use the spa and the gym.

The overall environment of this resort is quite pleasant, and the large green open space is its main attraction. The staff are generally polite and well-mannered. However, the management seems extremely poor. 1. The rooms are very old and poorly maintained. 2. There’s a strong smell of mold in the rooms. Despite being labeled as non-smoking rooms, most of them reek of cigarette smoke, making it uncomfortable to stay. Even after complaining and getting a room change, all the available rooms had similar issues — mold, smoke, and overpowering air freshener smells. 3. Though there is a telephone in the room, it doesn’t work. When calling the hotel’s number from a mobile phone, they rarely answer. For any help, you have to walk all the way to reception. There’s practically no in-room communication system. The Wi-Fi exists only in name — it doesn’t work. 4. It seems the management has no proper training regarding cleanliness and hygiene. The staff are trying their best, but without adequate tools and supplies, they can only do so much. 5. Basic items were provided in the room, but they were unclean. For example, the electric kettle had limescale buildup (photo attached). 6. The restaurant menu and the food served are totally mismatched. The quality and taste don’t justify even half the price. The breakfast had very limited options. 7. Guests are likely to feel deceived after arriving, judging by the attractive exterior and online ads. The management doesn’t take complaints seriously. If you’re thinking of visiting based on reviews or online promotion, it’s better not to. Most reviews about this resort are negative, and there’s no sign of improvement. It feels like this place is run by people with no idea about the hospitality business. 8. Billing seems to depend on whether or not the guest asks for it. If you don’t ask, you might not get a bill at all. When we requested one, we were told the system was down and to collect it later. But even at checkout, no bill was provided. To conclude, the resort’s advertisements are misleading and feel like a scam. Please don’t fall for them. It’s fine to visit during the day to enjoy the greenery and surroundings — but if you’re planning to stay overnight, be ready to be disappointed. Thank you.

We visited Godawari Village Resort with a group of 15 friends for a one-night getaway, but the resort turned out to be a complete letdown. The rooms were outdated, curtains filthy, and balconies covered in bird droppings. They didn’t inform us about any penalties for outside food or drinks during check-in but later charged over 2500+ VAT for bringing a bottle of Jack Daniel’s. The food was terrible with very limited and unappetizing options, especially at the poolside where only momo, chowmein, and timmur chicken were available—even on weekends. Service was highly unprofessional, with rude staff, delayed food service (over 2 hours), and billing errors like charging for broken items and adding extra platters. Staff frequently demanded instant payments, creating an uncomfortable environment, and they even charged for ice. The checkout process took more than two hours, and the late 3 PM check-in added to the frustration. Overall, the resort was a disaster—what saved the trip was the company of great friends. Would not recommend this place for even a short visit.

We checked in late night approximately at 10 pm, and when requested for extending a late checkout by 1 hour next day, the reception guy with dark complexion wearing black coat response was unacceptable which is very rude and uncooperative. Food quality was poor and also the service was poor. Not much option for veg. The given room was also of poor quality, not much of room amenities , even a basic soap was not placed. The hotel's maintenance is poor, needs renovation in rooms. The smoke emitting from the near by brick factory makes the experience even worse by polluting the air quality of it's surrounding. Moreover, the loud music from the picnic group makes the experience even worse by diminishing the essence of quietness in the nature. In general, the resort is NOT APPROPRIATE location if you are looking for a quiet area, excellent guest service along with better quality of food and service.

Don't get scammed by the Photos !! The food is horrible, the services is poor, the bathroom lights are not working, the rooms are not updated and not well ventilated. The only good part about this property is the open area and room size, but don't get trapped, its completely not worth it !!!

Nice but not geared towards tourists We stayed here for 4 nights in April 2023.The room was nice and spacious with a lovely big comfy bed and mini fridge in the cupboard. We had a problem with our hot water for a couple of nights but this was fixed after mentioning to reception. The setting of the hotel is nice with immaculate gardens but A LOT of steps to get anywhere. Our room was about halfway to the restaurant and was 116 steps down from reception! We got the feeling this hotel is more geared towards businesspeople from Kathmandu rather than tourists and the prices for anything at the resort reflected this. We didn’t really eat at the restaurant for dinner ($10 for breakfast buffet, $16 for dinner), preferring to walk into Godavari and eat for a fraction of the cost. The staff were not as friendly as other places we have stayed and also seemed a bit confused when we wanted to leave the resort to go sightseeing! However they did help us get taxis by showing us how to use Pathao (similar to Uber).

I regret to mention that despite my inclination to award a 5-star rating, I must express my disappointment with the lack of attention given to our overall service by the F&B manager and other staff. It appears that their primary focus lies solely on catering to the needs of VIPs. Anada Gautam has truly excelled in providing exceptional hospitality service. He went above and beyond to take care of us and delivered an outstanding food service in a highly professional manner. Unlike other managers and staff who seemed to prioritize VIP members, Anada Gautam made sure to attend to our needs. It was disappointing that the manager didn't even bother to inquire about our satisfaction with the food. We are immensely grateful to Anada Gautam for taking such good care of us. When we return, we would be delighted to see him again and receive his exceptional service. He is truly the backbone of this hotel and deserves a well-deserved raise. While we appreciate the overall property and the hospitality provided by the front desk, it is evident that the F&B manager and other restaurant staff working from 8pm-10pm lack the same level of professionalism displayed by Mr. Anada Gautam.
