We stayed Friday night.The room was fine- very clean. Had a lovely meal in the Indian restaurant- the staff were very friendly and the food was great. Nice cocktail in the Waterside afterwards. Reception staff were helpful and polite- particularly the night staff. Breakfast was plentiful- coffee machine was playing up. Only complaint would be of other guests not waiting to be seated and complaining of lack of croissants!!! We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again.

I’ve been coming to the Lion Quays for the last 10 years or so, fortunate to have a great facility like this so close and local. As a group we’ve been visiting here more frequently recently and would just like to say Matt, Jack, Chris, Octavia, Chloe and the team at the waterside bar and restaurant have been fantastic hosts! Great, welcoming friendly atmosphere complimented by a lovely food whilst visiting for a family meal. Thank you All for your help and support through this time! Will keep coming back!

Tired hotel with potential. Check in went ok, friendly staff. Deluxe Room overlooking canal was nice, door hard to open and close to overlook canal. Bathroom very small, shower was unclean and tired looking. Leisure pool, sauna, steam and jacuzzi was a short walk from hotel. Tired looking area, but reception, gym and paid extra spa looked nice. Pool was ok, jacuzzi had rusting rails, tired looking and only half jets working. Sauna and steam room ok. Changing rooms ok, dirty floor areas and very slippery. Lockers ok to use, hairdryers lacking but nice to see. Restaurant was nice, clean, friendly attentive staff. Nice food and would eat here again. We moved rooms due to being unclean and being able to hear all room noise around us. Moved to a larger accessible room on ground floor, room nice, tired dirty bedding and bathroom ok, looked clean enough. Paying £180 for b&b for deluxe room and celebrating a wedding anniversary, we were very disappointed with our stay. Have stayed in cleaner and nicer chain hotels, with same leisure facilities paid less and enjoyed more! Have sent in a complaint about our disappointment, awaiting a response. A refund would be nice or partial refund for such a disappointment. Would not recommend or visit again sadly as this hotel came recommended by so many.

We are veterans of a military association (The Infantry Boys & Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion, IBB & IJLB) that were once stationed as boy soldiers at Plymouth, Tuxford, Oswestry and laterally Shorncliffe. We choose Oswestry as our preferred base for our reunions. The IJLB association holds it's reunion each September, for the second year we have chosen to have our reunions at the Lion Quays Hotel & Spa, Weston Rhyn. We had a seating of 87 for our dinner. The events team headed by Jessica Bruce, has made everything so easy for us, communicating via Google meet, given the we live all over the UK. From room bookings to meals planning, and the layout for our AGM and Reunion Dinner, Jessica and her team left no stone unturned, ensuring all our needs were catered for making sure we got the best experience we could. On the night of our dinner Charlotte and her kitchen/waiting staff were on hand to ensure we wanted for nothing, the pre ordered menu was a great success and delivered to our tables with a friendly efficient style. Military precision comes to mind. A separate bar was ever present and was well used by our members. Without hesitation, myself and our treasurer, John Foley, have now engaged with Jessica to start the ball rolling for our 2025 reunion. William McKerr Secretary IBB & IJLB Association

The events team in particular Jessica Bruce are truly amazing when planning an event on the scale that I have recently done. It makes so much of a difference when staff are on hand to assist at a moments notice to ensure an event runs smoothly. We stayed for 4 days, the rooms are lovely, food yummy, venue is beyond perfect for what we needed and the staff across the whole venue are very polite and cannot do enough for you. Thank you for making the whole week so special

5 of us recently came for a Spa break including ,lunch,evening meal and breakfast. We each had 2 treatments each and had full use of the spa facilities. On arrival at Reception we were greeted by a lovely and very helpful lady who told us everything we needed to know. We checked into our rooms (3 rooms in total and they were the Superior Rooms) they were all spotlessly clean,with free Toiletries and complimentary tea,coffee and hot chocolate. We also had a gift in each room which was a bottle of Prosecco. Each room had a balcony overlooking the canal and countryside views,very relaxing. Beautiful rooms and decor with a safe,fan ,iron and ironing board. After check in we went for lunch where we had a lovely bottle of champagne to share and a Mezze Board each which consisted of fresh bread,breadstick,houmous,olives,pate,selection of meat,dips and new potatoes which was delicious. We then went to start our spa experience...again spotlessly clean facilities...Spa included,Sauna,Steam room,jacuzzi,hydro pool,swimming pool,gym,floating beds etc and a lovely relaxation room where we were served fresh fruit and fruit juice when requested. Plenty of water,green tea and herbal tea also available. We each chose to have the deep tissue massage...50 minutes each and it was absolutely perfect and they worked to your requests. The second treatment the following day we chose between us the Mud Rasul ,Massage Chair and the Floatation booth...between us we all agreed were absolutely fabulous. The whole spa experience was wonderful and relaxing,the lights in there were dimmed but enough light to see what you needed to see but made it even more relaxing a long with the calming spa music. On the evening we all went for dinner and drinks...we all had a 3 course meal...food freshly prepared and tasted delicious...empty plates all around. Breakfast the following morning was a buffet style...from full English to continental with tea,coffee and fruit juices...again very nice indeed. When we finished that day we were all given a complimentary gift each from the Spa ...a selection of lovely Toiletries and bag. The whole experience from start to finish was wonderful ,friendly and helpful staff,quality food,excellent spa,beautiful rooms ...would I recommend coming here? Absolutely 100% without a doubt...we came home feeling fully relaxed and content from our break away ...

Bedroom was very dated but clean. we were on the ground floor. The toilet and sink did have a crack in it. I wouldn’t stay over again. But the food was nice and the spa was great. I would definitely come back for the food and spa! The staff were very friendly and were happy to give more teas and coffees when needed.
