We recently had our wedding at the Inn on the Lake - it was a truly magical day! We greatly appreciated the wedding team’s professionalism and attention to detail from start to finish. We had so much positive feedback from wedding guests on how slick everything was, how attentive and friendly all the staff were, and how beautifully presented the hotel was. All guests had the most incredible experience! We couldn’t recommend the Inn on the Lake and its staff highly enough to make your big day extra special!

Just fabulous! I found the hotel while looking for a last minute stop over while driving home from farther south and am so glad we found this stunning hotel. From arrival to check out it was outstanding. The location, the staff and the quality of the food.

Couldn't go due to weather warning stating only essential travel and A66 also closed so was nigh on impossible to get there. Called up asked options and was told in no uncertain terms there was nothing they could do - we even suggested moving booking to a mid week date in a month when not busy - would have been happy to take anything but was constantly computer says no situation. Very disappointing when spent over £300 for the room. Safe to say won't look to go again.

We stayed for two nights mid-week and had a very comfortable and enjoyable visit. The hotel is perfectly located for walking and exploring this part of the Lakes - we walked up most of Helvellyn which you can do from right out of the hotel front door - a real plus when we only had one full day so didn't need to drive anywhere. The food was delicious - breakfast and dinner, and an excellent draft beer sitting by the open fire a real highlight. The staff were all very helpful and polite. We hope to be back soon.

What a beautiful hotel. All dressed up for Christmas and looking gorgeous. We had room 48 which overlooked Lake and gardens. The morning frost turned it into a winter wonderland. In general just a lovely hotel and village, all staff were excellent and our Westie Rumble was loved by everyone. Nice food and very cosy with plenty of room for all in lounges. Can't wait to come back.

Stopped off here for a light lunch after a walk in the morning. We intended to go eat in the Ramblers Bar & Candleroom but it was closed for the season so we headed for the Orangery. Although we hadn’t booked we were fortunate enough to get a table for two. Pleasantly surprised to find the place already decked out for Christmas and when we discovered that they had a festive menu on offer we decided to opt for Christmas dinner. Absolutely superb lunch at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and the whole experience - including a stroll in the grounds - was lovely. We’d love to go back and stay over in the future - shame it’s not closer to home!
