Location and Scenery: The hotel is situated in a stunning area, with many guests praising its accessibility to nearby attractions and breathtaking views of the surrounding highlands and mountains. Proximity to Glencoe and Loch Leven was particularly highlighted.

Stayed a night at The Glencoe Inn and had a pleasant experience. Dinner on arrival was the highlight — the lady host was super chirpy and incredibly personable, bringing a bright, happy energy that made the evening feel special. Breakfast the next morning was hosted by a gentleman with a great sense of humour, adding a light and cheerful start to the day. The room was clean and well-kept, with excellent in-room shower amenities — the shampoo and soap smelled fantastic, and a proper hot shower melted away all the fatigue. Only downside: the walls are quite thin, so footsteps and neighbouring sounds were noticeable at times. Not a dealbreaker, but worth being aware. Overall, friendly people, thoughtful touches, and a cosy Highland atmosphere. Would happily return.

It's a small cabin in the valley. The room facilities are quite old. The room heater was on in August. I contacted the front desk and they said it couldn't be turned off. I booked a lake view room, but the room I was given was different from the one I booked. Ctrip's service was very good and they immediately refunded the price difference. It's worth affirming.

Don’t bother… we walked in on a Saturday night at 6.30 to be told that they had stopped serving food even though it says 8 pm on website. Asked if we could eat in the restaurant but was told it was fully booked even though there was empty tables, and they stayed empty … ordered a 2nd drink at the bar to be told they would have to re-use our glasses if we wanted another as they had run out of glasses.

This hotel is like a place that time forgot, but not always in a good way. The staff were friendly and helpful, in particular Scott & Dylan. Beautiful & convenient setting in Glencoe The general ambiance was “old, charming but well-worn Scottish country inn,” which would be lovely if it was kept clean. The room was comfortable enough, with all the amenities as listed; breakfast was quite good, if slow. Unfortunately there were numerous places throughout that had visible stains and scuffs. Wooden floors were dirty. The landing where you go up the stairs to the bedrooms had a noticeably bad odor, probably from the nearby ladies toilets. This would all be (sort of) okay if it weren’t listed as a 5-star hotel. Maybe it used to be? It’s as if Crerar Hotels has forgotten about this one. This hotel has the potential to be so much more than it currently is. Needs a bigger budget and more staff. They are clearly overworked and understaffed, but do their best, which we appreciated.

LIKED Glencoe Inn is right off the main highway and has decent parking. Easy to find. The valley and views are gorgeous. That is about the extent of what we liked. Well, breakfast wasn't bad, once it was set up. DISLIKED Just about everything was sub-par. Arrival/check-in- For 3 rooms, had to fill out questionnaire. Very regimented, not friendly. All rooms are up a flight of stairs. The Inn is quite old. And it smells like it. Rooms were tight, hot, humid. TINY bathrooms! With heated towel bar right by toilet- easy to burn yourself. Shower stall barely fit a human. Dinner: One server doing everything and clearly overwhelmed. The chicken stuffed with haggis was inedible. Not because of haggis. Had a bitter chemical burn taste. SLOW on everything. Prices were nearly fine dining level which was ridiculous. Spent a very uncomfortable night, and when I showed up to the dining room to get coffee in the morning, flustered the new one-person host/server who wasn't ready. They were very particular about WHEN you could come in. We had a group of 6 adults and one child, and they said only 4 of us could dine at 7:30, and 2 at 8am. Very inconvenient and there was plenty of room at empty tables. Staff was not friendly. I would not recommend this spot. And I'm sorry we didn't find someplace other than this. Best thing - we only had to suffer through 1-night.

Being local, we wanted a couple of pre dinner drinks while dinner cooking at home. Don't waste your time as it's locked up. There's no signage to say so, the interior lights are on but please don't bother. It's the 1st of September, the season is still in flow, the A82 is still busy as we're still in tourist season, but this is not the first time this has happened. A real shame as it could be a goldmine due to its position on the main Glasgow to Fort William route. They have most definitely lost our custom for good.

We found the hotel in a good location with a nice reception, lounge & our bedroom/apartment was great and spotless. Alas our overall impression was negative due to our poor dining experience. There is much to see in the Glencoe area which we much enjoyed.

Whatever you do don’t stay here. Photos are very deceptive. Restaurant is always out of something. Bedding is very uncomfortable.
