The hotel is expensive for a reason. The lake view outside the room window is beautiful. The lakeside hiking beside the hotel is also nice. The breakfast and dinner arranged in the room are relaxing and comfortable. I recommend it.

Having stayed at many top hotels around the world, I can gladly share that the Glencoe House ranks in my top 3 of all time. The setting along the loch and at the foot of the mountain range, is simply magnificent...the area is one of the most beautiful spots imaginable. The hotel itself is amazing...the rooms make you feel like you are staying in Holyrood House or Balmoral Castle. The service is impeccable, and we were visited by the head chef each morning to set expectations and to choose our courses for that evening's dinner...the meals are served in your private room's dining area. One of the highlights... we were hoping to get a glimpse of a Red Deer stag, but our chances were rather remote as we had booked several excursions over a two night stay. The staff were helpful in mapping us out prime viewing spots, but we realized would need a bit of luck to spot one. Then later that afternoon whilst in our room preparing for the evening meal, I looked out our window into the hotel's back yard, and wow! A beautiful stag grazing not 50 yards away! We will never forget our 2 days in Glencoe and our stay at this wonderful estate.

Our room was lovely with a beautiful view and dining room. The jacuzzi was a nice touch. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The food, specifically the gnocchi and seafood platter, was just fabulous. The view from our room of the water was spectacular, I just wish the backyard had less mowed grass and more wildflowers to look at.

This place is something that’s truly magical and and you will seriously feel something that you don’t get in many places. James greets you in a kilt and when he walks you through your private retreat - you keep saying wow! Nothing is missed! Make sure you book for longer that you think as I promise you , what ever you have booked is too short. Bring walking shoes as the lake behind and the Loch in front is beautiful and the walks are easy and cater for ALL levels of accessibility!

We stayed here for one night on our way from Edinburgh to Skye. The property is beautiful with a fascinating history and the house is impeccably designed and furnished. We (my husband and mom) stayed in a wing with two bedrooms, a sitting room and a dining room, and my mom remarked that she felt like she was nobility. We had pre-arranged dinner in the room and it was delightful, much more proper than we had expected. We were able to make choices and each course was served by the staff. It was nice to be able to relax and go to bed right after. Breakfast was delicious too. The service is restrained, maybe even aloof, but it felt deliberate- perhaps meant to give guests their privacy.

I don’t think I’ve stayed in a more thoughtful place. This was hotel #18 in 21 days of travel and we weren’t in the best frame of mind when we arrived. So many B&Bs and hotels do what’s best for them instead of the guest, but Glencoe House was 100% about the guests. We stayed in the lodges. Tired from driving all day in the rain, we weren’t looking forward to finding a restaurant, and I was sure that whatever food they left in the fridge (per their website) would be minimal. So very wrong. What a feast we had. And I was shocked to learn it was all included in the rate. (Not that it was cheap - we paid about $700 per night - I think the most we’ve ever spent on a hotel.) There were many choices of very delicious frozen meals, side dishes, garlic bread, desserts, cheese. Also a complimentary half bottle of nice champagne. Also breakfast foods - cereals, milk, bread, yogurt, juice, plus fresh foods to cook, including eggs, vegetables, several kinds of meat/sausages. For reasonable fees they also had a wide choice of drinks and mixers, a great selection of bottles of wine, and a selection of scotches. Beyond the food and drinks, they had prepped a fire in the wood burning stove and the hot tub on the deck was heated and ready. All equipment - kitchen cooker, bathroom fixtures etc were top notch, even the hair dryer was a Dyson. There were candles and a champagne bucket on the side of the tub. Great super king bed and linens. Full and half baths. I could go on. Everything was super intuitive and easy to use. If the owners truly want to go above and beyond, they might consider adding a reading chair to the living room, as the low velour couch was a challenge for my husband.
