I was disappointed in our stay at this location. I have never had a bad experience with Hampton Inns, but I must say this one is lacking. Pros are - a good hot breakfast, free parking for DC area, and great customer service. But the following room 423 issues during our 2 night stay superseded the pros: 1 - Smell - we had to buy spray to cover the "foot" odor in the room (tolerable so I did not make the complaint to the front desk). 2 - Bathroom door - these are barn-style doors that slide between bathroom and closet, but there is no latch or lock to hold the door in place and would slowly slide open when in the bathroom (even with family, this is not ideal with 2 adults and 2 teens). Addressed this with the front desk, they adjusted promptly, and it mostly stayed closed, but 2 hardware pieces of the door fell off afterwards. 3 - Towels - we were only provided with 3 bath towels even though I booked the room for 4 guests. Requested more, but none available at request. Made a 2nd request later and still never received any additional towels. 4- WiFi - absolutely NO signal in the room. When trying to connect, it just spins on any device (iphones, iPads, laptops). It connected in the halls and lobby, but would drop every time we entered the room. Again, tolerable as we were out mostly, but the times I had work and kids had homework, we had to go to the lobby to accomplish anything. OVERALL - cleanliness and friendliness was great, but the room issues made this just a 3-star for this stay.

The hotel was okay. The staff lacked hospitality. When we arrived, we asked where the designated smoking area was outside. The front desk agent said they didn’t have one, and to not smoke in your vehicle as they call the police. Went outside and back in, and advised her that there is a smoking pole outside the entrance. She didn’t realize it was there. At 5amish, the fire alarms went off. No staff to be found. We evacuated the building. Firetruck came and left. Again, no staff could be found outside or gave any communication that it was safe to re-enter the property. We went in after about 25 minutes. The agent emerged from the desk and just smiled. Didn’t apologize or give an all clear that the property was okay. The room was nice, I think if the staff had better training, it would be a great property. Accidents and things happen, my review score is not based off the fire alarm. It’s solely based off our interaction with staff. I hope the team will take this feedback and provide additional training to their teams. Thankfully it was just a water leak and not a fire, but I do not feel safe staying at this property based off our experience with the team.

We enjoyed our stay for a concert at Northwest Stadium. Location was convenient to the field as well as the metro station. Lots of food options and shopping around as well! Will definitely stay here again if we have another event at the football field!

From the moment I arrived, the hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with a SMILE!! The rooms were comfortable and inviting—a great place to sleep, eat, and relax. It felt like a home away from home, with thoughtful touches that made my visit even more enjoyable If you are looking for a welcoming place to rest while visiting the Glenarden, Maryland and Washington, DC areas, this hotel is a wonderful choice
