Acorn Hotel

from the outside it looked good check in was easy with manager Paul. we had room 1 and the room at first glance looked good but when we went to the shower we noticed dust behind the sink and toilet bowl dirt and hair in the shower door rails and drain. after which we went to bed the lambs each side had dust that came off in clumps the right corner by window of celling a brown mark. under bed there was a chocolate egg and some change we left it there it might be there for next reviewer! the bed was comfortable and the shower was good. next morning we had breakfast cooked by Paul who seems to be there from morning to night when asked he explained that he works 3 on 3 off and stays in over night. there is no night porter and he stays in room 7 the breakfast was ok for the price however the sausages look to be microwaved. the cold buffet was good. for the price of £10.00. The room next to the main door was noisy when people came back late but that is not the hotels fault. we herd that there is only 2 house keeping staff to do the rooms this is possibly why dusting is missed. also the curtains on the right side have white stains has Monica Lewinski staid before us LOL. over all it is the cleaning that lets this place down its location is good and could be better with a bar and restaurant.

The hotel is in a lovely peaceful location surrounded by local parks, and ideal for getting about the City. The staff were so so lovely, and very helpful! I was visiting alone as I was meeting someone for a date in the area, and the gentleman at reception (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name) couldn't have been more helpful. Definitely recommend! Will be back! (Minus the date next time though hahaha)

Crap nights sleep Lovley hotel, staff frendily enough but the was a constant sound of an AC unti working all night, had a terrible nights sleep

Having arrived after getting lost in what felt like a monsoon , soaked to the skin and miserable , Kevin the manger was amazing , I was too wet to go out for food , he dried my jacket , made me tea and toast and brightened my miserable night with his cheery chat and nothing was too much trouble , room was fine , bit tired but big fluffy towels, spotless bed , amazing shower and perfect spotless bed , people are an organisations biggest asset and they have a diamond in Kevin , People make Glasgow and it’s clear that Kevin is one amazing ambassador for the city and the hotel .

Convenient for Hydro events and city centre Stayed full weekend in March 2025 for C2C festival at Hydro . Great stay , friendly staff , comfortable bed , plenty of tea and coffee and good breakfast available at extra charge , cooked to order . Only slight issue is parking . Street parking outside is very expensive with a maximum 3 hour stay but it’s free on a weekend from 6pm Friday until 8 am Monday . If you time it within those hours it’s very convenient. Hotel staff happily advise on a cheaper car park nearby although we didn’t use it . Comfortable 20 minute walk to Hydro and only 5-10 minute walk to city centre with numerous food/ drink options and shops . 2 minute walk to Kelvingrove Park which is very nice to stroll round . We were very happy with our stay

Had a 4-night stay here. Handy location for walking to Kelvingrove Park, university area and into the city centre. Looks unimpressive from outside but very comfortable and clean inside, quiet at night. Lovely staff and large tasty breakfast which was very sustaining for a day of sight-seeing. Comprehensive written information about local facilities.
